Likely didn't occur to him. I've come to realize that, while overbearingly glib about everything, H isn't intentionally wrong, he just doesn't understand the issues fully. He grabs at random sources that seem on point and when he disagrees with something, he throws out one of his usual glib remarks. It's a cognitive defense mechanism.
