Troy Dannen selling couch?

His introductory press conference with Fisch was VERY odd and made me suspect of the guy, but I figured that how the DeBoer shit went down just made me bitter and suspect of everything at that point.
He was wearing an ill-fitting suit and focused on Fisch's wife. Even after his initial comments about making Fisch's wife the "First Lady of Husky Football" went over like a lead balloon, he doubled down and stared at her while making the same joke a second time. Not necessarily in a creepy sense, but in the sense that he thought he had a funny joke and since no one got it he better tell it a second time.
He seemed to have no feel for the room, nor did I get the sense that he understood that the football program was in full panic mode. In that moment, selling the cred for the new football coach was FAR more important than leading the presser with a goofy comment about the new coach's wife. (Regardless of how hot she is).

When I first heard he was leaving I thought he accepted a job as lead pit boss at the muckleshoot.
This is why you don’t hire a bald. -
This wasn't about DEI.
Dannen just wanted to get back to a corn state near his corn loving family.
-
There is definitely something rotten about the sports programs here at University of Washington. And no, it's not politics, I'm not a dumbass rube who believes that. If you think it's "vibe" based like that than you are a dumbass.
-
I don't buy that either. You think Bill Fleenor and the old Seattle money boosters give a shit about DEI?

After a day of reading about this, I've come to 3 conclusions.
1- it's a bad look for UW
2- The biggest reason Dannen left seems to be that Nebraska was willing to DOUBLE his fucking salary (and he's closer to home)
3- No one in the UW athletic dept circles is sad to see this guy go and many have said he truly sucked behind the scenes and UW is averting a major disaster down the line by losing him.

I am not losing any sleep over him going to Nebraska. He was here for a hot second and didn't have time to get alot done. I think he was being pushed out, you know, because Pete Carroll has shown interest as AD...wink wink
-
II was hoping for Belichick but I'd could live with Carroll.
-
I think we should hire TheClapp. This guy is a master at deciphering compensation packages and has my complete confidence!
-
Has Lorenzo Romar or Damon Huard been named as AD yet?
