The boards are still suffering from a post season hangover

Virtually all the players and coaches we knew are gone, and this team has no identity. It pains me to see it like this after 2.1 million page views in December and 1.9 million in January. But it is what it is. It'll either pick up during spring ball or August camp.
Looking to see if Fisch can get Mike Ditka to come hang out on the boards here.

Beat we can do is Mike Ditka’s son: Mike Lil Ditka.

We recovered quite well from the West Coast shutting down college football for a year. Getting into the B1G and Natty Game show that as an institution we still kinda care. But I don't see how an awful hangover can be avoided given the multiple severe traumas in such a short time frame.

The time between the end of recruiting and spring football is the most dead other than deep summer. Yet another shitty thing is with the new conference and transfer portal stuff it's hard to even project next season and the teams they are playing because it's hard to gauge rosters and I know almost nothing about most of the program's they're playing next year.
-
it’s almost like another city stole our? team but we got an expansion team immediately. We’re pretty sure they’re gonna suck but also curious because there’s a chance they get overlooked and surprise some teams
-
I'm kind of going to miss the Podcast of Champions spring preview of all the Pac teams that they do this time of year.
Where David does the same bitchfest every episode about how spring games are a waste of time, and every P12 South guest besides Utah leaves a voicemail about how fucked their team is heading into the Spring.
-
Like I was saying a few weeks ago, it's like we're getting the '77 Mariners and we need to find our Rupert Jones to root for.

Where the hell did my shitty donator badge go? And this new Vanilla interface sucks.
Sorry…got distracted. 🙂
It’s unfortunate we? don’t have a basketball 🏀 team that’s worth a damn. That would’ve helped bolstered people’s spirits and kept up the traffic to the site through part of the football offseason.
And sadly our? main malarkey draws ( @Swaye, @Gladstone, etc.) aren’t around much - poor @YellowSnow and @DerekJohnson can’t be expected to shoulder the entire burden of keeping this place active in the Spring and Summer months.
I don’t have any solutions to liven things up - but I’m sure things will pick up again in August.
-
I haven't seen the traffic this low since the spring of 2013.
Sorry about the badge, it is now fixed m'dear.

Thank you, fearless leader! 😘

PTSD. AA is the worst.

There was plenty I was tired about with the Pac-10/12 by the end and getting out was the only option but the reality of the unknown of what the fuck Washington in the Big 10 is definitely has started to kick in. I genuinely have no idea what to expect.
-
There also might be trauma fatigue. As I've said as someone who started to really understand football in the mid-90s I've been through the Lambo malaise, Neuheisel's descent and firing, Gilby, Losingham, 7-win Sark, Petersen quitting, Jimmy, and now losing a game they could have won in the natty, the coach immediately leaving and the roster bolting. Good times.
-
We collectively got kicked in the nuts. Give it a minute.
-
It takes a minute.
It's a process.
It's hard. Well, it might get hard again.

The 2019 Rose Bowl to the 2022 season was a fucking drag where everything seemed to go bad. Even the middle part of 2022 sucked. Then 14 months basically of good times bro. At least now I feel confident the program is gonna actually try for the first time since the early Neuheisel years.

@priapism, true?

We're going 15-0 next year.

We saw something in Jan that really fucked with a lot of fans' sense of why give a shit.
Coach fucking bailed - really sucked but fine that happens.
But then all the fucking players bailed. And at that point you HAVE to ask… what am I following? If not a coach. If not a team. What tangible thing have I been giving a shit about? And there's nothing. Some fading memories from college? Purple and gold and chrome and black? Seriously what possible nexus ties me and my heart to this new whatever donor purchase that's being rolled out? Cheer for this? Cheer for what? We're a bag team now. We're cynical as Oregon now but without their shamelessly effective marketing.
Traditional conference rivalries gone.
You can learn the names of new players you haven't seen play yet, but they'll fucking split. You can't give a shit because you'd long followed their recruiting arc, because it was some other coach at some other school who recruited them and we weren't watching that then. We just dropped a bigger bag than Arizona could.
Memories of a great year? Our dick was chopped off the second we stuck it in. All those personalities bailed.
Things have dropped off because there's no actual thing to give a fuck about anymore.
-
Bingo.
Nobody follows AAA baseball or the XFL.
-
don’t forget to pay money directly to the players you don’t know or care about….or else
-
Everyone will be back come August. Cook it.
The off-season is definitely less meaningful but there hasn't been a real national signing day for a few years now.
-
So, do we start following the NFL? Go Hawks? Same shit happens there, just longer contracts. We follow a team that plays in the greatest fucking setting beat the likes of those fucks from Eugene, Pullman, and now Ann Harbor I guess. It's harder for a jack Doog like me

Yes, all of this. Plus, the way DeBitch left (and a handful of players) just added fuel to the narrative that Washington is currently a stepping stone school… which is a narrative that we used to enjoy applying to Oregon. Before DeBitch jumped we hadn't had a head coach leave for another college job other than Sark all the way back to a coach that coached here before I was alive.
Now we've had two HCs leave and one is at Texas and one is at Alabama
I want a HC that tells bigger brand schools to Fuck Off like Don James did, and then wins an NC here. And until I get what I want, I will just always be dissatisfied.
On the bright side, we've made the CFB under 2 completely different coaching staffs — something that no other Pac12 school can say. So there's that, which is kinda cool.

The Chiefs want to extend a county sales tax on their fans for an additional 40 years that would hang 500 million on them while they only personally contribute 300.
For stadium renovations. And yes they have already publicly dropped the "if we don't get this, all options are on the table."
-
You absolutely nailed it.
-
This. I have nothing left to add because this was perfect. My give a shit meter is pegged on zero.
