Are we gonna pretend that Lanning wasn’t a candidate for the Alabama job?
I mean it’s fine to say he never interviewed but it’s fairly absurd to suggest that he wasn’t approached about the position. -
No it isn't

1. DeBoer
2. Norvell
3. Dabo
4. Lane
5. Bama OC
6. Kirby's current Keg Boy whoever that is
7. Missouri coach
8. Lanning was seriously considered guys it's absurd to think otherwise.

sure
Look I’m fairly certain you’d like nothing more than to argue with a total stranger about something as inconsequential as this for the rest of the afternoon but you’re going to find someone else to participate in an internet fight with you today, haie. -
If DeBoer would've said no (he wouldn't have, nor would he have turned down Ohio St so don't twist) then Alabama's next choice was Norvell who also wouldn't have said no to them.
So pretending that Lanning is sought after is just quooking. It just is.
A&M said, "Naw...we'll take the Duke coach."
So there's nothing to argue about.

The part of his story that smells is him saying he didn't give it much thought but then chose to spend the tim social media production entails. Saban's retirment was the #1 story in sports. He gave it a lot of fucking thought.

that was all pre-orchestrated.
