What is the holdup on completing the coaching staff??

Are we waiting for an NFL coach to get knocked out of the playoff?

There was some talk that Alabama was dragging their feet on paying the $12 million and partially because if UW completes their coaching staff before the payment, Alabama could say UW fired the previous coaching staff and thus wouldn't be entitled to the buyout money.

At the same time, Fisch may be trying to lure away Sirmon or Duruyter from Cal or maybe even trying to get Nansen back since his budget is bigger (and Nansen wouldn't have to be Co-DC). It's tough to know but will probably be settled in the next few days.

It won't be very interesting if he hires Nansen. It'll just be depressing.
    Who doesn’t like drunk coordinators?

I thought the $12M buyout was just for DeBoer? What does the rest of the coaching staff have to do with it? Is/was that buyout somehow also tied to the status of guys like Inge & Morrell?

Further explaining please to be had?

If they can claim they get fired, the coaches might get some cash and Bama avoids buyouts for them.

Yeah but I'm asking what they have to do with DeBoer's buyout -- wasn't the $12M buyout number just for DeBoer?

After this last season I think we’re the only program that wouldn’t want to hire him based on the past
