I'm not mad at DeBoer

I don’t think if they offered DeBoer $12 million he would have signed until after the season.
We’ll never know, but he definitely wanted to wait to see what opened up. Based on his actions and what we know now, it’s pretty clear he was never gonna be a UW lifer. -
What lowball offer? 8.7m? Are we evaluating that offer now after 14-1 and a natty appearance or when the offer was made? Imagine not knowing you were headed for a natty 1.5 years into a tenure. Things change, wins happen, going to natties happen, numbers rise. Is this the simple logic missing in this debate? The answer may not surprise you.

I'm pissed he was all but locked in with Alabama a month before the playoffs and that UW apparently never had a chance.
I don't see the upside for him at Bama. He would've been a Seattle sports legend. I'm surprised he'd want to leave such a love-fest behind given that the money wasn't really different. What is he at Alabama? Already on the hot seat.
It doesn't make sense to me. Dumb move.
I think he'll win big at Alabama. I won't care, but I may remind people that I predicted it and was right. -
I don't think any of us are mad at DeBoer. But we are not opposed to trained meth squirrels attacking him either. We are Switzerland.
-
I can’t fault any coach for leaving their gig for Bama. There are only a couple of positions in the entire country on that level. Mind you, I feel like a level drop off is part of why Saban bounced.
In the end, it was a rushed process and Deboer’s exit was handled beyond poorly. His communication to his players and the fans was pathetic. He deserves to be ridiculed and will be hated by many forever because of it.
I have now clue what the offers were. They were both for way more scratch than he ever thought was coming his way a couple years ago.
He has an insanely huge ego. And winning at the highest level will be his biggest challenge and only goal.

J is off his meds in this thread

If I saw him in the reals I’d go find some meth and fall off of the wagon just so I could attack him like a trained meth squirrel.AtomicDawg said:I don't think any of us are mad at DeBoer. But we are not opposed to trained meth squirrels attacking him either. We are Switzerland.
He made it personal, so fuck him FOREVER.

You don’t start whoring around in the midst of a Natty run. You just don’t.
Thems the rules.
And I don’t think it was about the money.
It's clear that Bama orchestrated this because they wanted ZERO lag time that could cost them in recruiting.

Probably should've gotten someone other than DeBoer since that was the biggest issue with him day 1 at UWDerekJohnson said:

We lost because their team isn't dependent on a great QB and we are, and he just didn't live up to it...PurpleJ said:
That's not why we lost the natty. We lost because we finally ran into a more talented team that also had a good coach.YellowSnow said:
He should have been more ruthless and won us the Natty.PurpleJ said:
Well then maybe don't low ball him before the natty?RTD said:

I blame this squarely on UW. #TeamMercenary
Anyways, LIPO with the new coach and all the portal/recruiting shit. Every game a BATTLE, every season a WAR but that's months away.
P.S. He's still Hitler for hurting my feelings, though.
to get fucked up by all the SEC skwads
Look, I'm a company man when it comes to UW because that's my school. Anywhere else it's "fuck you pay me" and you'd better believe I'd try to bring talent with me if I was a college coach. DeBoer is trying to win and he's a ruthless ice cold mercenary POS. I respect that and it's part of why he was successful here.
Took his eye off the prize. -
Deboer left because he's a feckless recruiter and he wasn't up for the challenge of actual program building. So he struck while the iron was hot and gladly took the upgraded roster that was waiting for him in Tuscaloosa. His next goal is to mimic what he did at Washington and bounce for the NFL Jimmy Johnson style, all before the chickens come home to roost.
He's a two bit whore who excels at utilizing what other people have left for him. The next program he actually builds will be his first. -

Have no idea about Oklahoma State because who cares
I do think you're accurate on DeBoer -
Correct. And Jimmy took them up a level. Didn’t seem like it in year one coming off the natty, but by the next year it was obvious. He leveled them up a talent-wise from what they had when they upset Nebraska. DeBoer rode a wave of offensive talent and won with it. He of course did things as a coach to make it happen. No doubt about that. But he mostly didn’t build it outside of getting Penix, which is admittedly a huge piece.RaceBannon said:

He may be more like Slingblade than JJ. Sling recruited Mariotta so gets credit for that piece but the rest was already there for him to ride.
As I’ve said, let’s see how DB does without Penix. -
You’ll get no argument from me there. My personal opinion is he hates kids and is only playing a role until he gets where he wants to be (NFL). I do love me a good sociopathic asshole, though.GreenRiverGatorz said:Deboer left because he's a feckless recruiter and he wasn't up for the challenge of actual program building. Agree, and the fact that their roster and recruiting are completely falling apart is absolutely delicious.DerekJohnson said:

Best case scenario for him, Deboer is a poor man's Jimmy Johnson. Jimmy could actually recruit.RaceBannon said:
