Fisch seems more straightforward

I like that. We need a realistic, “go win” approach at this stage. Not that culture isn’t critical, but get some good players first.
It also seems like EVERYONE! gets it that this new guy probably won’t be here for a long time.
Fine by me. Go win.

Agreed. Run it like the business that it is. That family stuff died with the portal. Teams are no longer stuck with the same guys for 4-5 years so the culture sell is now the NIL sell.

DeBoer parlayed the family shtick all the way to Bama after 2 year stints.wooderson92 said:Agreed. Run it like the business that it is. That family stuff died with the portal. Teams are no longer stuck with the same guys for 4-5 years so the culture sell is now the NIL sell.
It's program building time for the Dutchman. Let's see if he has the chops.

Culture is always important. Part of that is honesty. Don’t write checks you can’t cash. The last coach turned out to be a real insurance salesman. A phony. He used everyone to advance his agenda. Now he is a Saban cuck.
Fisch seems to be more measured. There is a good chance that if he is wildly successful he will bolt for the NFL or one of the very few prettier girls in CFB at some point. Sexton’s boys do that. A lot. Understand that and plan for it. For now, expect him to win and call for him to be fired if he doesn’t. -
You don’t need a big kumbyah hug circle to have good culture. The players need to feel supported, that coaches are invested in making them the best player they can be, and the program provides the resources needed to get the job done.
It’s no different than your job. You don’t need a boss to say they love you. You need a place that has the right culture to win. -
At least we know going into it he’s a merc.

Don’t disagree, but the Kumbyah hug circle approach works quite a bit. This generation of players can thrive under itTXDawg said:You don’t need a big kumbyah hug circle to have good culture. Getting emotionally attached to coaches and most players is dumb. If Petersen couldn't stick it out more than 6 years than almost no one can. Too much is a grind at one place.
Guaranteed Leipold was told to recruit, and bring his best players from Kansas and he pussed out. Fuck all of that. -
Kalen is dead to me now. Like the hire and if he bolts after three years, just means he had success......LFG

Sounds like Brennen Carroll is making a push for the AZ HC job.

UW is actually reaching machine territory where the program is bigger than any one person.
Lake fucked around and found out really fucking quick.
Cauce is a Saint. -
Hopefully he doesn’t get it. I don’t really care if he comes as oc or not but we don’t need a fight for az offensive guys to portal.DawgtillDeath said:Sounds like Brennen Carroll is making a push for the AZ HC job.

He lost to the grizz and weeks later needed his temper to get him shit canned. Not sure I’d call that really quick.PostGameOrangeSlices said:

For fairness, they both did the same thing to their teams for the same reason. Fisch just did it faster.
