I’m going to be unhappy regardless of who it is so let’s get this over with.

You may only have 90 posts, but you seem primed to settle in for a long tenure at Hardcore Husky.
Didn’t you saw deboner was going to have a long tenure…

Fisch brings Fajita and McMillan and you could do a lot worse than that as long as you can break the bank and get a big time DC

I would prefer Jonathan Smith, mostly because it would be really funny

Would you be ok with that?

Think he’d bring anyone with him?
I mean his D3 record is better than DeBoer at NAIA

That interests me as well as building Kansas up

This is a major rebuild obviously

    He's probably my #1

    Don't know about players
I actually counter the notion that it is a major rebuild. If the new staff can keep Carter and some of the portal guys in the fold, there's talent on the roster but it is mostly young. Jimmy Lake's 2021 class was a disaster and now those guys will be RS-JRs and Seniors but even the hybrid Lake / DeBoer class of 2022 had a few players in it.

UW was going to take its lumps in 2024 anyway with so many experienced players moving on to the NFL (or exhausting eligibility) but 2025 should be good (along with portal help).

For all intents and purposes, I look at this at a quick rebuild as long as Dannen stops the bleeding soon with a good coach.

Agree that he’s done a really good job at Kansas who was dogshit when he got there.

He doesn’t have any assistants that I would care for and not sure that he’s going to be able to recruit well on the west coast which is my major concern.

    Whittingham would work.

My sources are saying Whittingham wants the job and there's mutual interest. UW has one other target they're working on, too.

Gonna be tough to track SLC to Seattle flights.

If Florida sucks next year, which they probably will (insane schedule), then the AD is gone and so is Napier.

And then Fisch is gone after one year.

    No.

You structure a contract with that in mind.
Fisch will not accept a large buyout clause if he is waiting for Florida.

I want to believe, but I know better and am prepared for a letdown.

good way to shit test him then. If he denies, you tell him to fuck off and move onto other candidates. If he doesn't, there's your new coach and you can have more confidence in him staying put.

I don’t think Whittingham is a great hire but they could do a lot worse.

If he gets a great OC, it's an ace hire. Promote Shep to OC, keep Huff, profit.

Whittingham fits traditional Husky Football (balanced offense, nasty on D) but what's his buyout?

What Whittingham has done for a place like Utah is impressive. I want to think that UW has more going for it than the Utes, but I’m a little gunshy right now.

Still, he’d stick around for the duration and this team would be Pat Hill tuff. I’d just want him to have an OC who can score.

Wittingham would be dope. His teams are stubborn as fuck, play defense. They have only lacked elite qbs and wrs, which I think he can access at UW.

B1G membership would be a good selling point for him.

Utah is one of the few programs who has competed in the trenches with anyone they go against, but they don't have the speed at the skill positions. If he's hired it would be wise to keep Shep.

Fisch is the only guy that could turn it around for the 2025 season

Either Klieman and Leopold could be successful but that would be rebuilding

Campbell would be whatever. 8 years at Iowa St and 18-21 over his last 3 is pretty miserable.

Not every coach is dying to coach at their alma mater. Especially if they've been shit for awhile.

McElwaine bitched about the lack of support, Mullens was a big personality that couldn't recruit, then they had that NIL debacle last year. They're far behind a bunch of schools in their own division including a complete juggernaut.

Out of curiosity who do you think IS a great hire?

Whittingham would be a tremendous hire lmao, they just had a downseason of 8-4 with a backup qb
