Mid season once you knew there was trouble make a public statement about how the first thing Deboar did was say how he wanted to build something himself at a legacy school like UW, force him to full lean into the humble good guy falsehood, publish a commercial using deboars face talking about his long term personal commitment to UW, Seattle, and the community, local news stories about him riding public transit every weekend, put his daughter on a giant banner that says Loyal to the Soil outside his office window... Then, make a massive offer and make it public so no one can say you didn't give him everything he could possibly ask for, use the media to paint him as the greedy multi-millionaire bastard fucking kids like Durfee, Morris, or Newton over.
Hire someone's vindictive ex wife from here, hire @Doog_de_Jour , Im sure she's got better ideas.
If he was going to leave, he was going to leave... but If he was going to death penalty UW, atleast make him pay for it, dont make it easy and let him walk away with his head high.
