Seems he is being metaphorically crucified for the fake punt attempt (other sites and media) and one loss as UW head coach. Let's hope he can resurrect this season and the program, or for all the sad-you-sees and fair-I-sees calling for his head to DIAFF.

Caesar_Dawg would have literally crucified him at the 50 yard line after the game.

Ironically, UW Doogpound made the point of not necessarily criticizing the fake, but rather the play calling leading up to it if the offense knew it was going 4 downs. Not the worst poont but honestly I don't remember the sequence leading up to it as I was somewhere between my 2nd and 3rd sheet to the wind.

I think the fake punt attempt decision is being blown out of proportion. Just like the 1st half let down at the GSU scrimmage was a coaching moment, I believe Petersen has the humility and integrity to make his own gaff a coaching moment.
Perhaps soon we will see the fire in the belly passion from these huskies, that like their predecessors did for Don James, they will be willing to run through walls for Coach Pete. -
Let he who has never called for a fake punt cast the first stone
Well, I guess that's about all of us -
This crucification crap needs to stop.
Most people know this is technique is more effectively because the surrounding crowd (fans?) can hear the joints popping out

I called a corner blitz one time only to have it thrown over the top to the WR that was left. That count?RaceBannon said:Let he who has never called for a fake punt cast the first stone

I know that Sven would have fired you on the 50 yard lineGrundleStiltzkin said:

I'm more concerned with resurrecting the program vs. the season.Homebrew_Dawg said:Seems he is being metaphorically crucified for the fake punt attempt (other sites and media) and one loss as UW head coach. Wasn't the fake punt on the set of downs that came after what were two three and outs that were saved by stanford penalties? UW had the ball on about 15 and after moving the ball less than 10 yards and two "series" benefited by Stanford stupidity giving them an extra 30 yards and the ball on the 50.... all without actually getting a first down on their own.
I don't know what my point is, other than UW couldn't move the ball to save their life. -
Me too. I am so damned impatient, seeing meaningful progress this season will remove doubt about the program's long term direction. I don't really doubt Petersen, things just haven't developed as I had hoped this season - yeah, yeah it has only been one game so far. I just can't wait until the Huskies return to the Rose Bowl with a realistic expectation of competing and winning. How he does on the road in conference will determine how soon such hopes can be realized, or how much more time it will take.MikeDamone said:

Overall, I am still more optimistic about the program's future than I have been in over a decade.
