And Tui played more for the Raiders than the Dawgs. Who the fuck cares?AOG said:It would be Penix, but the transfer portal era seems like it changes the situation. He played more at Indiana than Washington.
*and as already mentioned, Penix has not in fact played more at Indiana than he has here. -
Tui won a rose bowl and popped off. Penix hasn’t won that big postseason game yet. Better overall player, yes, but better legacy??? Nope.

Mostly agree but man, what a bitch it is w/ just 4 invites to have to play a 13th game against the 2nd best team in your conference that has already seen you.PurpleJ said:Tui won a rose bowl and popped off. The 2000 team might not have made it out of a rematch with Oregon State. -
As the old guy who has seen Husky players since Bob Schorledt had one eye on the Rose Bowl I can't disagree. There is something about Mike. If he closes he gets it because overall he is a better QB than Billy Joe. A better winner than Sixkiller. A leader as good as Tui. Emntman does have something to say about it. Hopefully we can debate this for a few years

Not to mention four years of high school under his belt, but he'll do whatever it takes to win the game.AOG said:It would be Penix, but the transfer portal era seems like it changes the situation. He played more at Indiana than Washington.

More seasons at Indiana. I guess Indiana could say he was the "Greatest Hoosier ever" too, based on what he did as a Huskie. -
Greatest husky ever are the guys that sat through the Gilby and Willingham years and still go to games
-
If we're going to get technical, guys like Rick Redman and George Wilson would need to be in the conversation. But only Race Bannon actually saw them play.

If Penix goes 15-0 (26-2) he's the guy hands down. Stan won a natty with two dominant seasons, but 15-0 > 12-0 and 26-2 > 22-2. By a little. If the 91 team had gotten a crack at Miami and won then it would be an endless debate.
The only debate in my mind is where Penix ranks if he loses the next game or the one after. Does he rank differently if UW beats Texas but loses the natty game as opposed to losing to Texas? -
