'89 Freedom Bowl has nothing to do with my reasoning. Its actually passive-aggressive Fetters type contrarian bullshit to make that assumption.Geevis_and_Butthead said:
Including Florida here is run of the mill Fetters contrarian bullshitDerekJohnson said:Was having an interesting conversation with a friend of mine.
This was my list
UCLA
Oregon
Iowa
Missouri
Florida
Texas A&M
Michigan State
Maybe Baylor
Just because UW smashed UF and made Emmitt Smith quit in the Freedom Bowl, doesn't mean the Gators didn't win a national championship in 1996, 2006 and 2008. -
Absolutely. Akin to Floridahouseofpain247 said:I'm wondering if Penn State belongs on the list? I think a case could be made either way.

Where is Washington on the list?

If you read up on the history of Penn State football, you will definitely find something "special" in there.houseofpain247 said:I'm wondering if Penn State belongs on the list? I think a case could be made either way.

All the Missouri fans I have spoken to think they're special at basketball. Football is just new and exciting to them.DerekJohnson said:

Ps. They are not special basketball. -
Dan Devine went from ASU to Missouri in the late 50s. Had some success but Oklahoma and Nebraska ran the Big 8. Missouri won a couple in the 60s
One of 17 teams to claim the 1960 natty
Devine left Missouri for Notre Dame where he won a natty with Joe Montana
Until Pinkel showed up that was it. Pinkel was decent at best
