One of my former teammates thinks Brown is not a great write and if David Halberstam had been the teller of this story it would have been the greatest sports book of all time.
 My response, was Winners, Win.

I thought Halberstam was a tad over rated. His book on the Walton Blazers was a bit pedantic and boring

Alternatively, @RaceBannon my buddy nominated Jeff Pearlman (author of Showtime) to re-write the book.RaceBannon said:I thought Halberstam was a tad over rated. His book on the Walton Blazers was a bit pedantic and boring
I like most of Halberstam's books and his work The Amateurs is the definitive row peter puffer book.
@CFetters_Nacho_Lover The Coldest Winter if the best work on Korea.

Timothy Egan would have been a better teller of the tale.
A good Spokane boy like Joe Rantz
