The process is the punishment... If you can't afford to to put up a defense they will hold you in jail and mop the floor and dehumanize you with atrocious treatment against you until you consent and accept whatever plea you can beg them for.
This guy is a hero for standing his ground and fighting back.
I hope he gets reimbursed every penny for his troubles!
