No, it was due to the actions of your school dip shit.

Racked up a bunch debt on unnecessary shit, supported Scott/Pac12 Network to the bitter end and banked everything on the conference staying together when Arizona, Colorado, UW, and Oregon had one foot out the door for nearly a year.

There's a book I read several years ago, called "The System: The Glory and Scandal of Big-Time College Football" that features both Mike Leach and the Cougars quite heavily. It gives lots of examples how the Cougs were swinging for the fences after getting all that sweet TV deal and Nike money.

Hindsight is always 20-20, but at the time they were having some success with Leach and you can see how everyone drank the "we're a program on the rise" Kool Aid. When Leach left for Mississippi State that in my mind was what did in the Cougs, not the Pac 12 dissolving.
Leach saw the writing on the wall imo. Especially with the conference. There were bad vibes going back to 2017/18.

Going to Mississippi State doesn't really make sense otherwise.
Yeah, I remember when he was being talked about for the Tennessee job, among others. There was literally a new rumor every year.

Yet for some reason many Cougs thought he was a lifer and made that assumption the bedrock of expanding their football operations.
