COUGFAN dot com Thought of the Day

Wazzu face a fiscal crisis due to the actions of another state school.

Cugos admit that their school was dependent on UW this whole time and that because we're leaving, they're facing a financial crisis without us.

At this point, they need to change their mascots to the Parasites.

Seems like a crisis that would be solved if they gave up athletics.

Typical victim mentality. Thought that was only the west side of the mountains. Clearly not.

You lost any of my sympathy when you fired Rolovich for not getting a shot which has side effects in 1/556

No, it was due to the actions of your school dip shit.

Racked up a bunch debt on unnecessary shit, supported Scott/Pac12 Network to the bitter end and banked everything on the conference staying together when Arizona, Colorado, UW, and Oregon had one foot out the door for nearly a year.

There's a book I read several years ago, called "The System: The Glory and Scandal of Big-Time College Football" that features both Mike Leach and the Cougars quite heavily. It gives lots of examples how the Cougs were swinging for the fences after getting all that sweet TV deal and Nike money.

Hindsight is always 20-20, but at the time they were having some success with Leach and you can see how everyone drank the "we're a program on the rise" Kool Aid. When Leach left for Mississippi State that in my mind was what did in the Cougs, not the Pac 12 dissolving.

Leach saw the writing on the wall imo. Especially with the conference. There were bad vibes going back to 2017/18.

Going to Mississippi State doesn't really make sense otherwise.

    Biggs,

Why don't you go eat some stuffing and turkey and STFU? If you actually "knew" how to coach big boy football...you would have done it. We will know how good the Pac-12 is in a month or so when bowl games are done. Your dumb ass has developed amnesia and has seemed to forget that the Pac-12 had the best record against other Power 5 conferences this year and by far the best OOC record overall. USC was a pretender and they got smoked in conference play this year. Utah looked like a world beater until they started playing Pac-12 schools. Arizona probably would have finished 11-1 if they would have realized that JDL was trash sooner.

I'm disappointed with how our season went and this certainly shouldn't be forgotten when we evaluate Dickert's career at WSU but it's important to remember that the mighty Mike Leach managed to go 3-9 in his third season and finished with a losing record in his final season at WSU. You never judge a coach based on one season unless you are a bitter old never-has-been who's jealous that they weren't good enough to reach for the brass ring.

Not that I care, but the majority of times WSU has been any good is when they feature a gimmick offense.

It all comes down to getting good players to Pullman.

Most smart people understand Pullman is a retarded place to go to school.

Yeah, I remember when he was being talked about for the Tennessee job, among others. There was literally a new rumor every year.

Yet for some reason many Cougs thought he was a lifer and made that assumption the bedrock of expanding their football operations.
