Biden and team screwed this up from the beginning. Remember how he was going to shut down russia, how putin was going to rue the day he ever entered Ukraine territory. Biden was going to ruin putin financially. Starve the people of cash so quickly that they would turn on Putin.

Welp, putin is stronger than ever. His military has lost a lot but russia has not suffered financially at all. When you attack the second largest European nation and its neighbors continue to purchase fuel and energy from you, I think it is fair to say putin has zero fear of the French, Germans, etc.

So what would you do at this point? Just curious to hear the thoughts.

Me? I get out. If the European countries aren't going to fight and just give faint support to Ukraine, what the hell am I doing there with my people and billions? Europe and the USA treated this war like they did Vietnam, they played politics instead of going in and kicking ass.

It’s Time to End Magical Thinking About Russia’s Defeat
Putin has withstood the West’s best efforts to reverse his invasion of Ukraine, and his hold on power is firm. The U.S. and its allies need a new strategy: containment.

You must have missed the fantastic ROI we are getting on these billions? And the SHREDDING.

Joking aside I mostly agree with all of this. The fact that we are still talking about more money into another lost war is about saving face only.

The Demonrats and RINO's raked in untold amounts of money on the kickbacks.

Joe and Hunter lost their Biolabs. They got a refund.

Sanctions don't work against a big country that matters who is already tied at the hip with China who really matters. The sanctions have backfired as more countries have now taken steps to make themselves less sanctionable.

There was no plan B once the sanctions failed and Russia dug in. Now it's all purely about not admitting defeat.

Probably high. But they also ran a budget surplus for their latest fiscal year so not sure they are really trying to move them.

The US on the other hand, I just bought some 30 day bonds directly from treasury at auction at a 5% face discount and with a 5.5% coupon rate. Crazy what huge deficits will do.

A "budget surplus" kinda meaningless when you use up all your foreign reserves, print tons of currency, and are paying 20% on existing debt(in those foreign reserves).

I was never one to say that sanctions would crush Russia but to pretend that "Russia is stronger than ever" is just repeating agitprop.

They are fully capable of going hermit kingdom since they produce food, energy, etc. Half of Siberia is living in 1930 anyway.

The difference being they have lots of rebellious colony states. Hence the push for "peace" aka a chance for Russia to regroup before the next invasion.

Seems like a totally low risk way to make 15% returns. Why wouldn't anyone invest?

Odd that the yield curves are inverted right?
