I assume that anyone who didn't immediately think of Montana to Clark after that play to Culp is just very young or not a football fan.RaceBannon said: -
I see the similarities, and I’ve seen “the catch” before, but I think was was like 2 when that play happened. 1986?chuck said:

Edit: just googled it, and it was 1981. I was jizz when that happened. -
Isn't it nice hating players less the longer they are in the program under DeBoner?
Culp couldn't catch a cold or Covid a few years ago -

He was actually playing better, did really well against Beaver and Texas last year, but can't stay healthyntxduck said:

One of the best movies ever made.

We fired his old high school assistant coach. It was probably bullshit that he was his coach because most of the rest of his story was but stillPostGameOrangeSlices said:Isn't it nice hating players less the longer they are in the program under DeBoner?

It has been shown so many times though. It's hard to imagine any football fan over 20 who hasn't seen it at some point. -
In the Niners game, the catch was special, hence the name. In last Saturday’s game, the throw was special. Henceforth, it shall be The Throw.
Problem is, there have been many that could be called that. All praise be to the mighty Penix. -
I still hated him. Yet, I miss him now. But hate him.PostGameOrangeSlices said:

I was 8 when the play happened, a 49ers fan since I was 15 and I’ve seen the catch probably hundreds of tims but it did not come close to crossing my mind during the game.chuck said:

In fairness that was the end of the half. Your mind was preoccupied with the thought of that gallon can of Old El Paso pasteurized cheese flavored sauce product in the kitchen.CFetters_Nacho_Lover said:

I was preoccupied mainly because I didn’t think the gallon can was gonna be enough. Turns out I was right.chuck said:

For my money, the Penix throw and Culp’s catch were both more impressive in a vacuum than the Montana throw or Clark catch.TheHB said:In the Niners game, the catch was special, hence the name. In last Saturday’s game, the throw was special. Henceforth, it shall be The Throw.

Culp’s catch is highly contested and gets both feet down.
Knew we were winning when that’s how they responded to that godawful personal foul on Fautanau. -
Culp's catch is as good as any around here

equivalent to J-Mac's catch at Oregon last seasonRaceBannon said:Culp's catch is as good as any around here

Better because it’s Culp.

Definitely. Penix threw it quite a bit farther into a smaller window, and Culp had to grab that thing like a vise or it would've been broken up.FireTheJanitor said:

How about that fucking catch from Culp? Ran across the field, found space in the back of the endzone, and held on while taking it to the groundRaceBannon said:
