Im not sure how many of our current players on offense would survive that matchup. Maybe our receiving corpse would hold up? -
Are they playing under 1991 rules, or 2023 rules? Neck rings and giant shoulder pads? DJ (ILTCHDJ) would ground assault, burn clock and keep it out of Mike’s hands. Low-scoring (at least for todays game)…

91’ squad would put insane pressure on Penix with the push up the middle and heat from the edge. Elite LB’s and secondary would be too much.
Hobart and Co would put a hurting on the defense. Too much Mario, Orlando McKay, Bruener and Beno. Naploleon would rip a 50 yarder before falling down.

91 defense was unreal and they win that game rather easily but you guys are underestimating a. how good Penix is at getting the ball out b. how great these receivers are c. How much the rules have changed in favor of offenses. 2023 would score some points. Unless we’re playing with 1991 rules and refs.

I agree. I always hate these comparisons. The game and the athletes have evolved a lot since then.
