1979 was a cool season. Lost to 11-0-1 USC and 11-1 Pittsburgh with a kid named Marino. Both at Husky Stadium

    And lost to ASU

Crushed Utah and Fresno non con

Beat Texas in the Sun Bowl

Set up back to back Rose Bowls

Mayor Bruce Harrell had a pick 6 against Utah

Joe Steele broke Hugh McElhenny's career rushing record (later broken by Napoleon Kaufman, which was later broken by Myles Gaskin).

Depressing to watch considering our current gameday experience.

They used to play that song as the opening kickoff sailed through the air. It was cool.

Made a minor correction - Mayor Harrell did not get a pick 6
Forget when it was but the Husky band at one of the Apple Cups pregame played the WSU fight song - then played Farmer in the Dell

It’s sad because there are a lot of great hs bands in WA state to poach from. I don’t understand why we don’t have one of the better bands in the country. That’s part of the front porch, too! Everything matters!
