Feeling really confident heading to Palo Alto now.

This team was completely out of sync

I hope that’s sarcasm. I don’t know how the fuck anyone could possibly have confidence in this team. Especially on offense. Grubb has the fucking yips.haie said:Feeling really confident heading to Palo Alto now.

All I know is that Meesh Powell saved me from wrapping my car around a Pullman rite aid parking lot lamp post.

This team had two bad games last year, one against these sun devils and their fucking anti husky voodoo black magic from hell, the other against UCLA the game prior. Will they lay another egg against Stanford, a la UCLA last year, before getting their shit together again? It’s possible, it would fit the pattern, and the matchups. Shit tackling and a lack of physicality are problems for this team. Stanford, Utah and Oregon State are all potential kicks in the nuts. I actually like our? chances against USC and Wazooo, but the others are all potential ankle breaking potholes.

Thanks Taft!
I agree with @Canadawg. That was a game UW normally loses. I was anxiety ridden as always staying up until 2 fucking AN but at the same time, felt a weird sense of confidence. -
We? never beat ASU, we? always lose to cal, always humiliate ourselves? In the desert. Well, not this year. One last PAC-12 demon to exorcise in Palo Alto.

I hear ya but last night's performance was humiliating or at least massively humbling.OreDawg said:We? never beat ASU, we? always lose to cal, always humiliate ourselves? In the desert. Well, not this year. One last PAC-12 demon to exorcise in Palo Alto.

Massively humbling and winning >>>>>>> massively humbling and losingDerekJohnson said:

theres gonna be a loss somewhere but, it aint gonna be the beavers. and i kinda like beav. but that aint happening

Completely agree. Good thing they picked one of the worst teams in P5 to play their worst game in 2 years. They played so bad and looked so deflated that until proven otherwise I think this is just a weird aberration, that’s our first percentile performance. I think they’ll get healthy and play much better in two weeksDerekJohnson said:

It was ugly and painful. It’s a big “whatever” for me. On to the next one.

You’d think we? lost our rivalry last week the way we? looked.OreDawg said:

I hear winners win.

Every single week we seem to be saying "well, at least we got our one bad game out of the way and got a win"

This X 1000. Not looking forward to being a B10 doormat with a waterboy playing QB next year. Watching DMO give Penix advice on the bench had me laughing and putting the game on pause for an hour because it was that much of a joke. Apparently, fast forward caused me to miss the 1 screen play Grubb called. How the fumble wasn't reviewed is beyond me. Normally, I would have replayed it 5 times but at that point I just didn't care and now I know what's in store for the foreseeable future.flatus said:

I only offer the consideration that Arizona is actually a top half of the conference teambananasnblondes said:Every single week we seem to be saying "well, at least we got our one bad game out of the way and got a win"

Also I believe UW beat Utah in 18? without scoring an offensive TD

huh? Arizon was a good team. This ASU team was definitely the stinker. We need Buelow and Jalen back desperately.bananasnblondes said:Every single week we seem to be saying "well, at least we got our one bad game out of the way and got a win"

If that was any other team in the conference, we lose.

Arizona was a bad quarter, and if Johnson or whoever didn't fumble at their four, most wouldn't have noticed. This was all game. I predicted 10-2 for a reason.

If a fluke deflection pick on the goal line and another inexplicable interception and a Polk fumble after a big play hadn't happened UW might've won by 3 scores last night and nobody would be freaking out today.Fire_Marshall_Bill said:Arizona was a bad quarter, and if Johnson or whoever didn't fumble at their four, most wouldn't have noticed. UW came out flat and put off by the weather like they spent the whole week basking in the glow of the last game. There are injury issues and they need to figure out the OL.
It would be easy to drop two games down the stretch, especially if opponents follow the ASU defensive model. They have some things to clean up and I think they will. Furd is going to wear it. -
I think that ASU cracked the code...
1. Keep McMillan off the field...Injury
2. Mug Odunze and Polk on every play...Pac 2 wefs
3. Play like you've got nothing to lose...
4. Lay the wood to Penix at every opportunity...
I was unable to see the entire game (Scotch night), but there are play-calling issues, injury issues, BONEM issues, and maybe Heisman hype issues. I think McMillan would have made a big difference last night. ASU did a great job of tying up the passing lanes, but they have got to tighten up the blitz reads.
I thought the secondary played well from what I could see through blurry eyes.
They are not sneaking up on anyone, and will get everyone's best shot, every week. DCs are going to try to scheme the shit out of them, blitz, bracket, assault.
WATBS, no Husky team in the last 20 years wins that game. They raised the bar with their play, and people noticed. They have to keep raising it, every week, to identify, react and adjust to whatever gets thrown at them going forward. -

My buddy (OK, it's the kid's other dad) thinks Penix has breadbasket issues of his own from last week. Delivery didn't look the same.
