Deboer and Grubb have a kryptonite

It's surprising and disappointing they couldn't figure out how to make them pay with any consistency.

Best way to counter that is to have Rome or Polk run an inside slant in the vacant middle. Shocked we never did that to counter their blitzing and took until the 2nd half to run a screenchuck said:Just keep blitzing. Line up to blitz but back out here and there, but mostly just blitz right up the gut.

And Penix width his three-quarter release will have it batted down every time.whatshouldicareabout said:

they are going to start lining up the OL 3 yards behind the line of scrimmage to give them time to recognize the defensive attack lanes

Just sit Westy right behind the pressure. Eazy peazy

There's officially now a book (which has been out there since start of season imo) on how to slow down UW offense from elite and unstoppable to manageable with added kicker of now getting hands up that you play two high safety and dare Grubb/Chuck to take underneath stuff all game, or you bring 1 more than we can block and force Penix to get rid of ball in 2 seconds, eliminating his chance to hit plays over the top.

They picked up blitzes with ease last year. It's more of a personnel thing imo. We will how they improve this week.

Grubb is enough of a dick not to adjust. He's one of those "stay aggressive" guys.godawgst said:

I don't get it, because they stuck with the run against Texas and it worked. But this OL seems to suck, maybe he knows it.
They need Bernard back as a horizontal threat, and they need to practice screen passes.

You’d think someone aspiring to be a HC would have the awareness to make adjustments. Guess that’s why he’s an “aggressive OC” and I sell air.Kingdome_Urinals said:

If they could run the ball, none of it would be an issue.

It seemed to me that the blitz is what wiped out the running gameTheHB said:If they could run the ball, none of it would be an issue.
