Beware! Not all hotels on Capital Hill are secess friendly. Hard to make any recommendations when you've already completed lists of unnamed places or things you don't want to do or visit again. Texans I know are not as obtuse, but I'll venture one suggestion I've found irresistible when visiting Seattle since Safeco Field and the Clink were built. Poke around the Asian district adjacent southeast of Pioneer Square and east by slightly north across the tracks from the Clink. Good restaurants, import stores, and other stuff oriental.

I used the term oriental once to my Japanese friend...holy shit she was pissed.
"Rugs are Oriental...not people."
Yikes..sorry. She used to screw black football players in college then married a country bumpkin white guy. Go figure. -
I'm too lazy to setup another doogman id, but if someone has one, here is my go to advice:
"I would hit the Met or Daniels for steak. Anthony's or Ray's for Seafood. Alki Tavern has the best burger in town. Northlake tavern has great pizza and cold beer and you can walk to the game from there.
If you like to have a few "sodas" you can can carry them around in a big red cup. The Ram at U village has an incredible "Ribs 'n Rickshaw" special $15.99 all you can eat and a ride to the game in a rickshaw. Plus they have a lot of cool HD TV's so you can hang with your peeps and catch some other games.
Don't forget to go to the Space Needle. Hit the Underground tour. Visit the Locks. Go to the Experience Music Project. Visit Pike Place Market and see the flying fish and the big piggy bank. Hit the Seattle Art Museum. Don't forget to go to the Seattle Center Fun Forest. Oh,and walk down to the water front. Go to Ivars. Get the large chowder." -
Christ, the ribs n rickshaw is getting expensive. Last I remember it was 13.99.
