Running backs

Home run threat to spell Johnson 5-10: Tybo. Guy looks legit.
Receiving threat isolated against a linebacker, draw plays 5-10 touches : Nixon has the skill level mixed in with Johnson at receiver is difficult to defend
Goal Line short yardage: No pass protection Richard Newton

I’ll take Nixon/Tybo at 1/2 and Johnson as 3rd down back until he’s fully healthy. Time to let Newton go man.
-
If Dick can't pass protect he's useless because the defense knows it's a run.

I’m pretty sure Johnson starting against MSU means he’s healthy. His rhythm is returning from getting reps. Remember this guy was out spring and fall practice.biak1 said:I’ll take Nixon/Tybo at 1/2 and Johnson as 3rd down back until he’s fully healthy. Time to let Newton go man.

Sometimes you know it’s a run on the goal line and still can’t stop it. Washington needs that threat to be what they can be. You need a dive threat, that’s DickBleachedAnusDawg said:If Dick can't pass protect he's useless because the defense knows it's a run.

This feels a bit like the argument in 2016 in favor of subbing out Gaskin for Lavon Coleman just because Coleman was the bigger back. Gaskin was a better RB in every aspect and could find the gaps to score despite being smaller.NeGgaPlEaSe said:

I am not so sure Newton is as good as he looked yesterday. Seemed like MSUs defence was getting abused by Penix all day so when they saw a Dick they just werent interested anymore

No offense to your assessment, but I agree with Greg Lewis who actually was the first one to tell us how good Gaskin truly wasbiak1 said:

Ngata sign of Ngata

He was dinged up last game I thought. I’d be more worried about Sam Adams not seeing the field again on offense.PostGameOrangeSlices said:Ngata sign of Ngata

Germie is a better RB than Dick.

Ngata is a shitter, take all the screenshots you need. Soft players.

I wonder if Boston Lager is willing to move to safety? It's that or hit the road IMO

I’ve been saying this since his senior yr in HS. His safety film looks, dare I say it, elite.BeerThirty said:I wonder if Boston Lager is willing to move to safety? It's that or hit the road IMO

Without Coleman m not sure UW beats Arizona?. I think that’s who it was. He went off.biak1 said:

That's correct, but I'm talking about a general personnel trend to sub out Gaskin favor of Coleman *just because* he was a bigger back.

Seems like that is the 3 back rotation for sure. Tybo will be the man by next year.biak1 said:I’ll take Nixon/Tybo at 1/2 and Johnson as 3rd down back until he’s fully healthy. Time to let Newton go man.
Ngata plays if somebody gets hurt. Adams, I don't see a future for him.
Dick is being carried as a legacy, locker room guy IMO. Maybe they'll let him get 100 against Arizona or something.
