Oregon’s worth depends on the benefactor. If you’re talking school presidents and academia, then yeah, Washington murders Oregon in value. But if you’re talking media (fox, nbc, cbs) then Oregon has the edge. Washington has the larger market, but Oregon does have a larger reach nationally. And let’s not deny that yes the presidents have the final vote, but the media players are definitely calling the shots on expansion. Presidents aren’t making a decision without the media’s backing.
