Why don't they just hire coaches over zoom?

I propose changing the name from Husky Jacks to Sustainability Jacks

    Dually noted.

The point is that people that don't like the position aren't going to have a negative effect on the athletics program. "That's stupid to worry about sustainability they fly jets!...Anyways who's Centre this year??"

On the flip side people who do care about the subject can feel good about themselves and will keep their head high knowing they are saving the planet while they watch football. A two fer!

No one is changing the channel because Jen is broadcasting a green initiative...unless @DerekJohnson wants to be a pioneer?

Weird thing to be upset about. Like @CFetters_Nacho_Lover said, you either have an AD or you don't. In the current environment, it was increase carbon footprint or die, so UW chose to not die. Same as Ghana completely deforesting their country for charcoal when gas prices tripled and they couldn't afford it. Easy to be shortsighted when it's that or starve. Doesn't make the deforestation good.

Reducing energy consumption is a good thing regardless of charter jet fuel consumption that keeps the show going. Even if you're the rolling coal type, it saves the AD money in the long run, and that's good no matter how many hours per day you spend in the Tug.

If you're going to do it anyway, might as well brag about it when your school is located in a place like Seattle.

    TL;DR: Who cares?

Who said I was upset? I identified an hypocrisy and commented on it. Like Canadawg, you're missing the point here, or else reacting reflexively based on ideology.
You didn't identify a hypocrisy, you just wanted to. Unless your philosophy is that you either live in a cave eating berries or you're a hypocrite, but I doubt that's the case. You're letting perfect be the enemy of good. It's objectively a good thing to be efficient. Making a dirty and expensive thing (in this case having an athletics program, I guess) less dirty and more efficient is good. It saves money. It uses less resources. This is no different than a car company bragging that their half-ton pickup gets 2 more mpg than the competition. Why wouldn't they? It saves the customer money, is a selling point, and makes some small percentage of them feel better about buying them. That pickup truck still guzzles gas, but it guzzles less gas, and a Honda Civic isn't towing your boat.

"Reacting reflexively based on ideology" is starting a forum thread complaining about something that saves the program you love money and has literally zero impact on your life. I'm in the "IDGAF" camp; you're the one starting a thread in which the first two words are "enough already." Which would suggest to a reasonable person that you're at least a little upset...

I've been watching a bit more B1G network, and they do the sustainability stuff as well.

99% of the network is football content from what I can tell. It’s almost like no one is interested in things that zero non family members would attend… for free let alone paid. Weird.

    No shit Derek

This isn’t the Pac 12 anymore. Talk like this around a B1G audience and you’re likely going to get your ass kicked. UW’s admin better fucking learn fast. I sure hope Oregon’s admin doesn’t start this shit…
