Big 12 smartly renegotiated their tv deal before it ran out. Pac 12 waited far too long and until there was nothing to buy out.

Right there with how they couldn't seen the writing on the wall with where that was headed when Texas and Oklahoma had just shown them the script what 2 years before? -
Regarding USC and UCLA, they didn’t have a buyout because either they gave enough advance notice or because they left before the next TV deal which obviously never happened.
