Hit the fairways, and your golden.

When does the real US Open start?

Chambers beat the newcomers Erin Hills and LACC rather easily.

Rory is actually playing with Brooksie
After two rounds I like Brooks by 5 to 10 shots

My pick is Dustin Johnson
Win some lose some

I liked Chambers. It was a blood bathBob_C said:Chambers beat the newcomers Erin Hills and LACC rather easily.

Sahalee is only like 7000 yards, guaranteed it’s tougher than LACC for the pros.

Dustin Johnson

Is that how much blow he snorted before today's round?RaceBannon said:Dustin Johnson

He did a pup on 2
Fun fact
In 1980 at Baultesrol Nicklaus and Weiskoph each shot a record 7 under 63 day 1.
Jack won at 8 under 272 which was the record for years. Tiger tied it and Rory broke it at rain soft Congressional
The moral is the USGA always strikes back
Miller shot 63 to win at Oakmont in 73. 74 was a blood bath at Winged Foot. Irwin won at 7 over
Thanks grampa -
Hope Tiger can pull out the win for his late father.
-
I like McElroy in this one.
-
Rory lost it with a wedge from the fairway. Who could have guessed.
-
Final verdict is Riv in Feb is better than LACC in June.

Course report - Langdon Farms, 6/17/23
As advertised and as always. I forgot how much I like this place. Perfect conditions and landscaping, perfect greens keeping, laid back atmosphere, and a trouble free, stress free 4 hour round where we were within shouting distance of other groups maybe twice.
After hitting the reserve and Pumpkin Ridge a couple of times I prefer Langdon by a mile and not just because of the superior atmosphere.
It played fairly long from the blue (#7) tees with a lot of holes into the wind. It's still relatively easy tee to green but plenty of trouble around the greens to keep it interesting.
Also we had breakfast and dinner there. The service talent was outstanding and friendly (and cute as fuck) and the menus were solid. On course bloody Mary was spicy and strong.
I give it 4.5/5 all considered. Think it was $130 with a cart but it is a pretty easy walk if one prefers. Highly recommend to any I-5 corridor dwags or quooks who haven't been. -

Bradley was fortunate to have a choke artist chasing him

Had some free time pop up on the calendar over the long weekend and have put together the plans for an impromptu golf trip this coming weekend
Going up through Idaho into Eastern BC and up into western Alberta before coming back down through Montana and then back home
Courses that I'm looking at playing on this trip:
Idaho Club
Eagle Ranch
Copper Point
Greywolf
Fairmont Banff Springs
Silvertip
Stewart Creek
Wildstone
Shadow Mountain
Wilderness Club
Circling Raven
Was going to head up to play Fairmont Jasper Park but I've heard that the winter was rough up there and the course conditions are supposedly very very iffy. Almost said fuck it because the drive up there is supposedly one of the best drives you can take in the world but figured I'd save that for some other time when the weather/conditions from the winter was a little better -
And before you get your panties in a wad there peter puffer @YellowSnow about how I haven't come down and played golf with you yet this year ... it's still on my radar to try to knock out at some point this summer

Just saw some pics on the socials of some Spokane chaps playing at Greywolf in Alberta. These guys are BIG hitters. Have to think the ball sails a mile at altitude.

I play golf in Colorado every couple of years … the ball travels a long way at altitude for sure

I used to make quad riding trips to St Anthony Dunes near Rexburg with my family. I mainly tagged along to play golf while they all went out and got hurt riding 1000' tall sand dunes. Played multiple courses at or above 5000' and can confirm. Golf in the high desert is fun. For me at the time the difference was about two clubs and maybe 25-30 yards of total driver distance.Tequilla said:I play golf in Colorado every couple of years … the ball travels a long way at altitude for sure

I hit a 9 degree driver in part because I used to hit a really high fade with a more lofted driver ... now I tend to hit it probably lower than I should (will get tested whenever I get my next clubs) so I don't get quite as much carry in elevation with the driver as the usual 10% would suggestchuck said:

On the other hand, I tend to hit my irons fairly high and find that you can get a lot of carry with the higher lofted clubs as the ball stays in the air forever
What I find most playing in elevation is because you're playing in mostly mountain terrain that you have to pay close attention to the greens and where to miss as at least one side typically has a nasty fall off area. Playing a half a club short is almost always better in these environments than a half club long. -
Whoah.....that's crazy 🤣Tequilla said:the ball travels a long way at altitude for sure
