Serious Update: Pup has passed away

When "we" were 4-6 after losses to Kal and ASU in 2015, I was really starting to doubt Peterson, but it worked out.DerekJohnson said:
My favorite part about this wonderful Pup quote is the notion that the Huskies were 12-1 and heading to play Alabama, but the only posters standing with Petersen were Pup, Steel2, Yobates and the Fire Marshall.DerekJohnson said:
Pup and Steel2 were the only two posters to stand with Petersen in years one and two. Yobates and the Fire Marshall came on board in years three and four. Now dipshits like @YellowSnow "knew it all along". You pathetic fuckFire_Marshall_Bill said:Damn, I got choked up. He was by far the most entertaining and I seemed to be one of a handful he liked, although he told me off several times. I was just trying to lure my mom's stupid schizo cat who had crawled into the innards of the bed box springs Sunday night with Fancy Feast and thought of all his hilarious stories and antics. RIP buddy.
Even though he called me a faggot a few times, he seemed to like me more than most and I was always amused when he mentioned the non-existent higher discussion board with himself, Yobates, Steel2, sometimes Roaddawg, and yours truly. Eventually I just embraced it. I'll take a Pumpy endorsement over 70,000 chins for recycled jokes. -
Drove through Gorst today, and gave a salute to the Legend…We went to look at a new litter of dogs, and I threw out Sugar Steel as a name for our new pup…did NOT go over well…#sheknows

RIP Pup.
Shortly after I joined this site, pup saw one of my posts and responded in his usual style, calling me 'Squier' in the process. I should dig up that post. -
Thanks. Been tough. 37 years we were very good friends.
Hope you holding up. Loosing a 20+ year friend must fucking blow. Ts&PsFireCohen said:

Ladies did love him as they liked his hair which changed styles weekly in jr high and his. Mullet, wavy curls, long perm, new wave haircut. He had told me about this girl he was dating in jr high and that she went to a different school. I assumed it was a “she’s from Niagara Falls, you wouldn’t know her” type of story. Met her finally in 10th grade when she came to a dance at our school. Very stunning and cool chic. I was best man in their wedding and we all went on vacations together etc. He was outgoing and always out doing something before accident(Alaska for a month, hunting, camping, hanging with friends family and fishing on his beloved Sky). Just had a celebration of life for him at his house on river. Was type of event he would have loved. Keg on the river, Westfalia camper vans parked on beach, some ring toss and hanging with friends and family shooting the shit and telling Pup stories. Was good to see Yobates again as it had been awhile. I will miss Pup/Erik every day and especially during husky games as we either watched them together or texted throughout every game.

I should add to this that I could never stand Pup at Dawgman. He had various titles: cford, Sugarlove, PuppyLove, Steelheader, LamboBacker. All of them were horrible.dnc said:Damn.
I absolutely hate this news and really sad I've come across it a week late.
I never seemed to get under pup's skin as well as some of you did but I'll proudly wear my Sermon Seeker title around these parts as long as it sticks.
Most interesting dichotomy of absolutely worthless shit-tier football takes and total must read, can't-miss-a-poast when he was talking anything else mythical character any of us will ever encounter. Certainly the most unique individual I've ever interacted with, anywhere.
Pup was one of one.
RIP, King.
I was not happy when he made his way over here, but the freedom of HH allowed pup's colorful vocabulary to take him to unforeseen heights. At DM he was just clueless about football and constantly angry. At HH he was clueless about football and constantly angry and a fucking demigod.
Thanks @DerekJohnson for providing a place for random outliers like Pup to find their voice. This place is a treasure.
I'm convinced now that about 81% percent of Pup's tall tales were either complete bullshit, or greatly exaggerated. Hell, he might have even been a Jack doog for all we know, shit talking us? bonafied alums as "new fish" who never set foot in Husky Stadium.
But he posted with a conviction and unique prose that was unequaled in this community. I recall there was an episode of Ken Burn's extrordinary PBS series on cuntry music ( @RaceBannon will know it ) about Hank Williams Sr entitled "Hillbilly Shakespeare". Perhaps Pup will be remembered as the Half Brain Shakespeare . -
RIP pup
He brought a level of interest and engagement to our community that really drove the forum experience for many posters during the Sark and early Peterman eras. Even though people sought to nitpick his stories and opinions and (lack of) predictions, he was a magnet for which discussions and memes would flourish. I don't think we'll see another personality like that here again.
Very sad to hear this news -
To large degree Pup made HH, yet equally, HH made Pup.YellowSnow said:

In HH's formative years Pup certainly had a huge role, but there were many prominent players that helped build it. Race Bannon, Swaye's Sunday morning epic narratives (usually resulting in him burning his white neighbor's shed down), Grundle's prolific gifs, PurpleJ weirdness, DDY and Coker on the recruiting board, Don James agreeing to be interviewed for articles even when he saw what kind of knuckleheads we were, other guys from Beno Bryant, Warren Moon, Dennis Brown and Ronnie Lott agreeing to be interviewed, etc. I know I'm forgetting others.dnc said:

Facts are facts boobielips
As far as ass fucking is concerned, keep trying. She'll give in eventually. But when she does dont bury it. Start with the head the 1st time. Tease her with an inch at a time.. Pretty soon she'll be grabbing your hips and sinking that buddy of yours. Dont dump in there though, itll be the last time. I know it's tempting, but unload on her back. Otherwise youre cooking dinner for 3 days -
RIP @puppylove_sugarsteel . Man, that’s terrible. When I first happened across this board, he was next level entertaining. ALWAYS looked forward to his posts. What an imagination…or maybe true? Never knew…but always thought could have been reality that someone may have done that stuff he posted…or either far fetched with a grand imagination. Either way, pup may be the best I’ve seen on multiple boards of either true or imaginary.
Someone I’d loved to have met, helped, fished with, camped or pounded some roundings with on the creek bank by a good fire. He was definitely a draw for me to come read and look up his postings here and will be sorely missed.
God Speed to his family, wife and friends that include those that are close to him here on the boards. -

I've been mulling it over. I was thinking that when @JoeEDangerously does his end-of-year annual all fake tough guy awards, we could do something like The Oracle of Maltby Best Prediction Award... and give it to the poster who made either the most incredible or most ridiculous prediction of the year. Something like that.HFNY said:I'm not seeing it, would you mind linking here?
