I don't think it is the internet per se, but the complete failure of our public education system. While there are closed minded indoctrinated people on the right they certainly aren't prevalent at the higher public level. On the other hand, the left is pretty much a hive mind of mental cowards who are totally ignorant of history, math, science and economics. When you have no interest in being intellectually curious, that is something that was inculcated in you. The internet didn't tear us apart during covid. It was weaponized but it was the US medical bureaucracy, Big Pharma and blue governors who supported the lies. When someone like Newsom, a so-called blue elite, supported the shut down of public schools but supported sending his kids to open private schools, that wasn't the internet's fault. The fact that there isn't a leftard on the Tug that has the slightest interest in anything having to do with an actual debate using facts is the same intellectual standard set by the leftard commie radicals like Bill Ayers in the 1960s, pre-internet.

The argument started over sports. Did the internet make sports fans irrational or just reveal what has always been

I'm on the side of the latter

The internet also reveals the authoritarian nature of the left. They want to kill what they can't control

That's my take too. Fan is short for fanatic. The internet, public schools, dems in government, dems in the US medical bureaucracy all screaming for limited information, no debate and indoctrination.

The internet does provide us with the information to see through the lies. But you have to want to know the truth. They lie when they talk about cheap, clean, reliable green energy. It's none of these unless you are talking about hydro or nuclear. Nuclear as currently run by government isn't cheap, but it is clean and reliable. So, the greens want it shut down and it's happening in Europe, Japan and the US.

Bad Batch. Nothing to do with open borders, just a bad batch. Personally, I'd like something to be done but then 81 million alleged US voters disagree. I'd also like to know the immigration status of the arrested perps and what kind of indictment and expected sentence you get for a bad batch.

Only white racists want a secure Southern Border.
