I'm guessing CAL wins the V8+ race by a length or more. They are the #1 ranked team in the country at present.
I will be heading down on May 14th to Pac 12's at Dexter Lake to watch the rematch.
Fuck Mother's Day. -

If we're being truly objective in our row boat hawt talk, we have to accept the CAL is very much on the Mt Rushmore of College Rowing in the US. We are slightly ahead of them in Natties, but just barely (it's like 1 or 2). Some years they are just going to be faster than an us and we're in one of those cycles right now.JoeEDangerously said:

There's no shame in losing to a GOOD California crew. Shit, I've lost to them 3 times and beat them 3 times in my illustrious row peter puffer career.

The conveniently leave out the part about Ky being a "Dwag" who was sent down to their to CAL to save their program.
I've only been in the Old Boathouse, but the new one looks like a pretty amazing facility even though Oakland is a cool fucking city, man. -
Men’s rowing Mt Rushmore is very clearly Washington, Cal and Harvard. I would have to consult the record books to decide between Yale and Princeton.YellowSnow said:

ETA: well fuck me, I forgot Princeton sucked for a long time and that Cornell was good at rowing in the early 1900s. I’m giving #4 to Yale over Cornell since Cornell hasn’t done shit in 40 years. -
We ?

Also, I'm pretty sure our stroke - she's an insanely fit Ausie chick - is on the juice.
Most gunned out female rower I've every seen at UW. -

Rowboat doesn't have as many up sets as football @JoeEDangerously . This CAL team is stacked.JoeEDangerously said:

Also Yale is the clear #2 all time at Eastern Sprints.whlinder said:

Washington
Harvard
Yale
Cal
That’s the official Mt Rushmore

We’ll I was right and Cal won. But only by a few seconds so I’m saying there’s still a chance to catch them later this season.

We’re still losing to Cal, but at least it’s close?
What’s Sark’s stupid quote, the scoreboard wasn’t indicative of the team performance?
Like Yella said, these things happen, Cal is a really good progrum too. But it would have been nice to Natty the same year that the Boys in the Boat movie is released. -
Stanford is building a program apparently.whlinder said:We’re still losing to Cal, but at least it’s close?

You can’t fault a young row Peter puffer for wanting Stanford academis @creepycoug
-
Mrs Snow double booked us for some socially important White Wakanda kiddy obstacle course challenge and I didn’t get to go to Dexter Lake.
Christ. -
Stanford has been building a program for 25+ years. They put up some good V8s from time to time but never seem to get all the way to the level necessary.
Unless this Tim it’s different. -
Stanford certainly isn't a blue blood for Row Boat. They didn't even have a program when I was in school. But if they really started to care about Row Boat and have the schollies, then the academis piece should make them competitive. There's no pro row boat after all and row peter puffers are the most cerebral of student athletes so the Stanford degree is attractive.whlinder said:Stanford has been building a program for 25+ years. Oregon State has a Varsity program but with no scholarships they will never be able to compete with CAL, Washington and Stanford. -
2nd in the V8
2nd in the 2V8
3rd in the 3V8
Ok.
We always lose to Cal. -

It was actually much close than anticipated @whlinder . We always lose to CAL but only by 1.24 seconds this time.whlinder said:2nd in the V8

My high level sources conveyed to me that the V8 had a very good pre IRA week of training out in Delaware and picked up a ton of speed.
-
Wow never thought I’d see the day where we managed to make talking about V8s gay.
-
Hold on now, fren. I actually own a V8 with 383 HP and gets like 12 MPG. That's way less gay than your Honda civic.coronabruin said:Wow never thought I’d see the day where we managed to make talking about V8s gay.

No civics here pal. Just bimmers. Only honda I’d ever own is the s2000.
