Update:
OKC finished dead last in attendance despite being a playoff team with a budding superstar and a shit ton of draft capital.

Wasn’t Clark County the fastest growing county in the Portland Metro area at the time? So if growth was happening north and west, why wouldn’t you keep playing in the middle. I bet there was also money and political reasons to stay near downtown Portland.haie said:
It has nothing to do with the sonics. He didn't give a shit about them. The growth was happening west and SW of Portland Metro and it would have been easier to build an arena in Beaverton or Tualitin. Maybe even Happy Valley where there has been a ton of money pumped in.BleachedAnusDawg said:
Ahh, yes, Paul Allen had the foresight to build a new arena 12 years prior to the Sonics being sold out of town, at the same time that the Sonics had just been in the Finals, because he just new that someday it would make the most sense to have the main PNW team located in a metro-area with half the population of the Seattle-metro area.haie said:

The rose garden is just south of the Columbia river because Portland is just south of the Columbia river. Nba arenas are almost always downtown.haie said:

Nobody in WA State cares about the Blazers. Vancouver hillbillies don't count.haie said:
No it's not.BleachedAnusDawg said:
Hilarious take from a Blazer fan. If that's the case, Blazers moving to Seattle is a mere formality.haie said:
Keep waiting. Pump out a few more documentaries. It ain't happening.BennyBeaver said:
Disagreehaie said:The Northwest can only support 1 NBA franchise to the league's expectations.
NBA doesn't want more colder climate cities. Free agents don't want to play there. Harder to maintain parity in a league that already struggles for it as is.
NBA just wants one franchise in the NW and Blazers are an old enough brand to leave where they are. They get Oregon and Washington State residents into them.
NBA doesn't like competing with all those other brands in Seattle. They'd rather have a new team in Vegas.
You have no clue what you're talking about.
The 🌹 Garden is just south of the Columbia river for a reason.
It would have been much easier to build the new arena well outside of Portland.
It was way more convenient for them to build an arena in Beaverton or SW of city limits.
Paul Allen was a die hard blazer and envisioned them being the main Northwest team. So he forced the new arena being just across the bridge from Washington.
PS: the 🌹 Garden isn't what I would consider downtown. And I lived in Portland for years.
In fact, he "forced" the Rose Garden right next to where the prior arena had already existed since 1960 because he's so smart.

Definitely had some John McEnroe in him on the football field and basketball court, but seems to be gaining control of his emotions.
Don't know if he'll like Faggy IPA's or not down the road.
Mrs. Snow went to HS in Salem so there's the RipCity fandom in the family genes.
Doubtful either kid will end up in Vantucky. -
He's a good looking kid. He'll probably do well with the ladies in due time.YellowSnow said:
