    I think great nominee for underrated play of the year. Still 4-5 plays against Oregon I think are the most-important. Beating Oregon was the difference between a good and great season.

    I don't think we would have won the Oregon game without the heroics in the beav game. You could almost literally see our beta, loser mentality being stripped away in the 4Q.

    The other thing about that play was that it should have been reviewed and a fourth down and a half yard to go ..

    We were due for some luck so in the end it was a great moment …

    There were trees all over I - 90 for the drive home … it was nuts. Freeway signs folded in half. One near Benton City is still not fixed.

    Great post. Plenty of solid arguments could be made but they mostly miss the point.

    One thing I love about the play was that it's the new Cam Davis in a nutshell. His 2022 was all about getting what was needed at all costs, including the cost of some possibly bigger plays if he kept his feet. Instead, if he needed a yard he made damn sure he was getting that yard. On this play, he might've been able to keep his feet but what he really needed was to just catch the ball, and he made damn sure of it. This is why he scored 13 or however many TDs and was the short yardage specialist most of the time.

    This is fair. This is a pretty good tipping point for the season as a whole. While there were some great heroics late in the Oregon game, the fact they came out strong and put themselves within striking distance early and still had a lot to play for really helped that.

    It's still hard for me not to pick Cook's tackle of Nix or the Penix to Taj Davis strike.

    He did say most underrated, so the catch on 3rd and 6 is pretty spot on, imo.

    There was nothing underrated about any of the plays against Oregon.

    Despite the struggles, we should always beat Oregon State. We went 90+ yards and the two corners who were owning Penix got carved up. Plus some play calling that should have happened the previous 3 quarters.

    My nominee for play of the year, that really changed things was the initial Oregon drive, something like 3rd and 10, 3rd and 14 or similar, and Penix escaped the pocked and ran for the first down. That took the wind of their sails and then they easily capped off the drive, and it was obvious to everyone in that stadium that it was going to be a really hard game for the front running Ducks.

    Penix hit Westover for a wide open TD on 3rd and 15. We hit some big plays at clutch times in that game. We were somewhat lifeless for most of the game. It was a big win and I don’t think we beat Oregon if we didn’t win that game.

    Big picture was J Smitty not taking 2 field goals his 1st two drives of game vs. Beavs

    Specifically right b4 half, Penix threw a absolute Pick 6 to Oregon State DB going into student end zone that if he hangs onto is 85 yard td going other way. I don't think we come back and win the game if that happens.
