Cooper was first and right about Odunze being elite

He likes how the current staff is using the transfer portal

And yeah he basically said that he challenged CP from time to time resulting in in depth conversations where he respected CP for always trying to learn. He challenged JL and got fired

Actually a really good podcast and was pretty surprised by his candor. I definitely agree with Washington needing to be Washington to beat out Oregon and not chasing them. My main worry/question is if getting guys who want to live in Seattle in the 2020s means you're getting guys who don't live, sleep, eat, shit football and it's only a step up from going to play school.

True but there are enough Odunzes and Pettis' that would rather drive their BRZs around Seattle instead of South Bend or Norman

Who was the wr recruit he was talking about that he thought they had to have to get the current room to not be soft that Pete refused to offer?

They made it sound obvious but I dont know wtf they're talking about.

I just listened and that was my question as well. Two guys that came to mind were Bru McCoy and Ford who ended up at SC (forgot first name). Just guesses though. Maybe Franklin at Oregon would be a decent guess.

Good point. Pat Tillman wanted to go to UW because he loved Seattle, though I think Seattle is different now than the 90s. I think to make those guys work you have to get the very best ones. I think Petagna made a good point that they had a tiny margin for error because there are so few guys who fit all those bills. I think you also need a coach/staff that give those guys edge and confidence. I think the Oregon game this year showed well for Deboer and company in that regard. Stanford was a perennial Top 5 level team for half a decade so it's not impossible to do.

Yeah I'm pretty sure he's talking about Pittman cause he implied the kid didn't get an offer. I think he dropped a subtle hint too when he said the kid was a real "pitbull".

DeBoer got this team to excel in winning time which sadly has been unusual most of this century

He turned 4 an 8 soft losers into winners

Penix played a big role but plenty of teams have a stud qb and still lose the 4th quarter

UW generally won it

I was trying to listen, drive and eat my breakfast burrito at the same time so I missed some stuff. I thought I heard him talking about being in the 10% or something along those lines. I think he was talking about the 10% with a dissenting opinion. In other words he disagreed with Lake too much.

100%. As the Director of Recruiting I assume he wasn't aligned with Jimmy's "We don't have to recruit because players will be lining up to play for me" approach
