Not shocking. Personally when we’re down south we always hit the local CB. Great candy selection and breakfast.

    Hell a Buc-ees probably couldn’t survive here.

Cracker Barrel should be a haven for BLM activists.

Had to being doing just awful. Their restaurants are big and brand new with probably a 20 year lease and hard to repurpose. To cave in such a short period of time and eat the lease shows that their target audience of middle America is getting squeezed out with high gas prices and their utility bills and grocery bills. Add a couple thousand dollars a year in inflation costs and all the lost revenue from the lockdowns and 20+ million unemployed.

Buc-ees is a damn national treasure. A gas station that sells art in the bathroom, AND has a delicious brisket sandwich- just brilliant.

I've been to a couple CBs and it was always a substandard experience. Food wasn't prepared right on one occasion, and both times they make you wait in this giant line in the gift shop just to pay for your meal.

The Battles of Vantage and Buc-ees will be epic.

I’ve never eaten at Cracker Barrel. Seems like it would fall into the Claim Jumper/Marie Calendars category. Those kinds of regional chains rise and fall all the time, but to see the doors close on multiple stores so quickly is obviously discouraging from a broader perspective…

If Waffle House comes and goes belly up it’s “Houston we have a problem.”
