By way of analogy, if a casino gambler KNEW he would always have his stake, he'd keep making riskier and riskier bets. Until such time that the risk of the bet far outweighed the reward which is essentially where SVB found itself.

As an autist who leads a miserable and pathetic life, earlier this year I went back and studied the averages in the Tug. I went back a few hundred pages. Something like 2-3 years worth.

Taking out the two pinned threads and the meme thread, generally you find you need a shit-poster to drive 100 replies. It’s pretty rare to get over 100 poasts organically. Based on my survey, threads over 300 posts would qualify for a “classics” status.

PGOSs UKR thread is a perfect storm of shit posting and organic interest. It might be years (plural) before we have another thread that does 1000+ posts.
