Cohen setting the table for UW's move to the B1G

Her midget mouthpiece weighs in on the likelihood of UW bringing back a failed basketball coach for his seventh season:

- - - - -

TL/DR/FD: Can't afford to fire Hopkins. The money just isn't there ... Every Pac-12 athletic department is struggling financially since Covid ... TV deal sucks. No media rights windfall on the horizon

This is the set up for the exit and "How could UW screw WSU and the conference by leaving?" cries on the way out the door.

Also, one day after declaring UW could be pretty good next year, Cohen Griswold says Hopkins "also may have his hands full keeping his core group together"

Don't think the wait for the B1G call is gonna be much longer ...

Obvious lame duck coach. Lame duck conference. No money to sign elite recruits or transfers in the portal. No real excitement coming back on the roster. Seems like a recipe for one shining moment next year.

I thought that they were off the hook for some or all of Lake's money now that he took a job? He must be getting paid minimum wage by the Rams if UW still owes him $6 million.

No motivation for the Rams to pay him big since they know we are and if Jimmy is pissed at UW he'd probably rather take our money than LA's.

I would imagine there is some sort of good faith clause for this type of situation for normal universities that fire coaches. Given Jen’s track record of leverage and negotiation though, you may be right.

As if all of that "just happened" and none of it is the purview of our? Athletic Department to get right in the first place.

Jimmy is probably paying for the title. Having said that, whatever happened to mitigation of damages clauses that would require the guy to actually look for work.

In typical Kim fashion, when asked if money wasn't a issue and/or if he bombed his year of end interview with Jen like it was reported Romar did leaving her with no choice would the money be there to make the change he won't answer. #justacoincidence

Does anyone know if UW’s NIL program is even half as serious about basketball as it is football? It remains pretty damned impressive how we can fail so badly at basketball so repeatedly

People forget the only reason Cohen *might* get bailed out financially by the football program is because she had to hire her 3rd choice. Failing-up was a matter of dumb fucking luck.

    People forget that.

We all know her first choice sucked balls. #HiJimmy!

The only thing she did right on that hire was not paying some third party coaching search firm to hire within. (like how she was hired).
