Sark's post-game press conference

http://usc.scout.com/story/1450862-sark-kessler-cravens-talk-bc?s=15

One thing that always bothered me about Sark was that he always generalized everything during his post-game conferences and always said "we need to get better" without really eluding to what we need to get better at or how he intends to get us better. I see he hasn't changed at USC and continues to go through the whole interview in coach-speech mode.

Sark could be staring down the barrel of his annual 3 game losing streak.

Was this performance not indicative of the kind of team USC has?

What a cool day for the Eagles man.

A lot of 'for whatever reason' excusing there. No idea why they couldn't play like 'they were capable of playing'

The best part about this loss is that it comes after Sark and his entire staff were circle jerking over a road win in which they were statistically dominated and got lucky. You know by "good week of practice" he means that the coaches and players sat back and figured they could sit it out against BC and OSU, put in a little effort against ASU, then finally show up for UCLA.

You know, because they ShawFS coaching beat Stanford by a fucking field goal.

Which is why last week Coach Petersen said he was still shaking his head at things going on in his locker room. Plenty of slack ass still needs to be exorcised.

my favorite david shaw coaching moment came during the 2012 fiesta bowl. driving down for what should have been the game winning score (he had that years top draft pick andrew luck, QB'ing the team) he instead opted to play for a field goal with a freshman kicker.

said kicker missed and now ESPN talks about how "shaw will be at stanford until he gets an NFL job."

    yep.

So let's see. Sark says it starts with him. That's something. But, oh yeah, it goes down to everyone in the locker room. Says they lost the 1 on 1 battles. Couldn't tackle. Got beat up front. Didn't execute. Didn't execute plays he knows they can. Coaching staff anticipated BCs game plan though. Just didn't execute. They came out fired up, great job by Sark firing them up, just lost it. Not sure how. Great week of practice though. Players just didn't execute.

    What a fucking douche.

He just needs a tiger and some trust issues worked out. SHit will be fine. You'll see.

Pretty sure I read somewhere that Sark also said something to the effect of "I still think we're a good football team."

Good news for Justin Wilcox is that they only gave up 53 yards passing ... how much do you want to bet that there will be a lot of focus on how good their pass defense was when talking about getting raped gangbanged by BC on the ground?

    Another foreign concept to Sark.

BC didn't need to pass. When you are gaining 8 yards a carry, stick with the run.

To your point, Sark and Wilcox will focus on how well they contained the passing game.

    Too lazy to watch.

I put the over/under on "we need to clean some things up".

I looked it up. Sarkisian translates into "master of coach speak". Who'd have thought?

If BC's qb is such a mobile QB (looked more like a dropback passer to me with just a lot of room to run) as Sark blamed so many times in that post-game, what the hell does that make every QB in this conference sans Mannion and Everett Golson? Olympic sprinters?

Why does Snark feel it neceassary to answer every question in so much breadth and depth? Just give a customary coach pat response and get the fuck on...sheesh

The BC QB was very mobile, but couldn't throw for shit. I remember watching him play for Florida last year. Everett Golson isn't in the Pac 12, and he is pretty mobile.

Because he's not a real coach.

This is why I harp on how you win does matter over the long term. Getting a pick 6 (iltciapick6) off a foot bounce for the win should not make a coach giddy about his accomplishment. He should realize he got a lucky and not let it cloud the truth. I've used the golf analogy many times. A bogie golfer can hit on off a tree and get a lucky bounce and leave a tap in birdie. The scorecard says birdie and not how it happened, but over 18 holes the pattern will emerge. He is still a bogie golfer. Sark is the bogie golfer who gets drunk in the clubhouse and talks about all his great shots and says he just needs to eliminate a few blow up holes. He has it in him, just needs to relax and not overthink it.

    Disagree.

You didn't mention iPad, Dish, Sling, the club section, the cheeseburger within it, or any of his "sources" like the front page of ESPN.com.
