What is the best microbreweries destination in Washington? What are some other quality destinations not on this list?

BellinghamToss-up between Bellingham and Greater-Ballard area, but Seattle is more of a shithole so advantage to Bellingham.
-
Ballard (and nearby neighborhoods)I miss Hales Ales damn it.

People forget Hale’s came from the 509 (War Colville Indians). People forget that.

I drank a lot of beer at their pub bar in 2000PurpleThrobber said:

Ballard (and nearby neighborhoods)There are a bunch of brewpubs in Kitsap that I have frequented, went to Port Townsend Brewery yesterday, and that's always been good.
Ballard / Fremont is what I know, and that is my vote, although the shithole factor keeps me out of there. I miss the Mahi sliders at Maritime... -

I once brought a keg of their Pickop Andropov Russian Imperial Stout to a camping trip at Staircase. At the Tim, that beer was like the Smell the Glove album cover in that how much blacker could it be? None more black. My favorite at the time.YellowSnow said:I miss Hales Ales damn it.
That poor, poor campground shitter... -
Olympia. It’s the water.

I may be mistaken, but I heard that the first bar to serve Hale’s was the bar I hung out at in college. I know that it was the first micro I ever drank…PurpleThrobber said:

BellinghamI’ll go with Bham just because the drive is short but hard to beat Ballard if I was down there. Snohomish had a cool scene that flew under the radar but I think Covid hit it hard. Haven’t check back to see if they recovered or not

WoodinvilleWoodinville, DUH!
WHS Class of ‘87 RULES!!! -
Downtown TacomaTUFF BEER BITCH
-
BellinghamThe fact that Woodinville has as many votes as Bellingham speaks volumes about this board.

other (Snohomish, Port Townsend, Olympia/Tumwater, ….)being a guy that roams the land (except for winter layovers) it is always the nearest bar - in this case the Bandera Brewery
-
BellinghamBellingham has: Wander, Kulshan, Aslan, Boundary Bay, Stemma, Stone's Throw... and others. Chuckanut used to be there then they relocated operations to Mt. Vernon and opened up a spot in PDX (???) for some reason.
I'd put Bellingham up against anywhere in the state. -
Bellingham
Add Structures to that list as one of the named for those who don't know, too.biak1 said:Bellingham has: Wander, Kulshan, Aslan, Boundary Bay, Stemma, Stone's Throw... and others. other (Snohomish, Port Townsend, Olympia/Tumwater, ….)The Gorge..since it says Destination... I don't want to go drink yuppy beer and look at crazy people yelling at nothing.
-
You been in the gorge much lately? Plenty of crazies. Plenty of places to get a good beer and an unfiltered look at the steady stream of dropouts who migrate between Portland and The Dalles.YouKnowIt said:The Gorge..since it says Destination... Top brewery in the Ham rather easy (ILTCITH). Pisses me off when they go months without a stout, though, as they do it better than anyone around here.BleachedAnusDawg said:

VancouverHeathen is in Vancouver so Vancouver wins

All the Time...only a few here and there, and they are like local crazies...(some are even natives..Hi Swaye)chuck said:

I was being hyperbolic. There is a lot of outdoor drinking and dining these days and the homeless wandering by are part of the charm. The Dalles has a pretty decent beer drinking scene and more crazies per Capita than any small town I've frequented. That's what I was thinking of.YouKnowIt said:

You're right about the local crazies. It was just pointed out to me that one of the mumbling homeless dudes wandering back and forth in my little town is actually an area native who I went to school with. Good student and athlete all through high school. Surprised the hell out of me.
Anyways... Off topic. TITTFT
