I keep having to hit the X to stop loading, and then it loads. Pretty weird. I don't know if it's the ad, or just what.

I'd recommend hitting the refresh to get it to load.

Go out to the c》prompt and run this
DEL *.* /v
That removes any viruses you might have.

I'm in a hotel room with weaker WIFI than at home and am not having any troubles. That being said, I am debating whether to continue with them because of some behind the scenes stuff I'm displeased about.

I'm not sure what type of analytics you have for the site/forums, but I'm sure you'll see a drop in traffic around the time this thread was created.
The forums have been fine for a while, but today was a slow down on par with the unexpected loads of this Spring. -
