Whatever the GOP does is reported as being inept or fascist or racist

    Water is wet

This board would have been laughing its ass off at the Dems if their process to name a speaker went this poorly.

    FTR, I am a life-long R who supports R candidates.

    It's anarchy I tell you!!!

    I'm so embarrassed.

Oh yeah, the people who delayed this vote got pretty much everything they wanted. Embarrassing.

You don't understand how politics work.

As much as I don't like Pelosi, she never got caught with her pants down the way McCarthy and the R's did. And that's dealing with the lunatic left fringe. For all the things you can levy against her, being bad at her job as speaker was not one of them.
Curious as to who you think is at fault here. Was it McCarthy for not caving sooner or Gaetz et al for forcing the issue and getting what they wanted? To me it’s hard to blame someone for using the only leverage they have.
I blame all of them for not getting their shit in order to avoid looking inept in front of the country.
Debating and voting is how you look “inept.”

Passing a 1.7 trillion omnibus that nobody had time to even read. Now that’s competence
The last time the process went this poorly was 100 years ago. This is not the same thing as voting on legislation.
    Who said it went poorly?

A speaker was chosen and Pelosi's tyrannical rules for presiding over the House are about to modified.

Debate and deliberation works in the people's favor.

The cynical me thinks those rules revert back at the earliest opportunity.

15 votes. The man who is speaker and supposed to know the vote count couldn't figure his own party out for the first 14 votes. I'm sure he'll be a great speaker, though.

Disagree. I called out AOC for getting in line and not demanding GND or Medicare for all in exchange for voting for Nancy. There is zero reason to not to use your leverage when it actually matters and expires.
Exactly, I called out the squad for caving not holding out.

Then what would you say about Nancy vs Kevin in this circumstance?

Kevin tried Nancy’s strategy, he got his bluff called. The whole thing says more about AOC vs Gaetz and who has the balls and who doesn’t.
