Gilby wasn't incompetent. He just wasn't able to assemble a solid coaching staff and was really not allowed to succeed. He was in constant pain due to his hip and had a hard time handing over the reins of the tight ends and offense in general. Neuheisal's recruits, like myself, didn't match his style of offense and tbh our coaches gave up when they saw the writing on the wall.
Willingham was a different story. He was far from incompetent but some of his coaches were. Talent wise we were among some of the best teams. But we couldn't win.
