How Bad are the DT's?

Evan Hudson is running with the 1's at DT already. Potoae, Banks, Tupou, and Finau are fucking worthless. Potoae was the #5 DT coming out of high school and he hasn't had one game where he made a positive impact.

5 fucking recruiting classes and we have a shitty OL and one good DT.

I know this splitting a fine hair, but he was running at DE, spot previously held down by Crichton.

    And Finau plays DE.

But can't argue that Potoa'e has been a major disappointment.

Wrong. In the 4-3, Hudson was playing DT with Shelton. Hudson and Shirley were at End. I assume he will be taking Chrichton's place in the 3-4.

I actually agree about the DT spot being an issue. Outside of Shelton, there are a lot of ?'s...

So our DT's are good? Swallow your pride, get on your knees, and go back to Dawgman. They will forgive you. Like I said before, if it took the Oregon fiasco for you to realize Kim is full of shit, you are a hopeless moron.

Are you just going by Jude's blog and they way he listed them? Or do you have video or a article saying different?

The majority of the games starting Dline looked like this:

    DE Hudson
    DT Shelton
    DE Chrichton
    RE (rush end) Shirley

Like you said, splitting hairs. Tokalahi took Chrichton's spot at times. It's a versatile defense that changes looks. A DE in the 3-4 is basically a 5 tech DT. Hudson is playing over Banks, Potoae, and the other guys I mentioned.

    True.

Sounds like they started the move in spring. I am a big fan of putting good athletes on D (move Daniels now) and Hudson has a nice frame for a 3-4 DE.

But I think they just wanted to get him a lot of reps and see how he performs. Based on most of the blogs, a lot of true Frosh got looks but doesn't mean they are going to be stealing playing time.

I'm gonna bid dawgman adieu (nice word choice faggot, and I'm appealing the $75,000) and complain that there is no football talk on Hardcore Husky.

I know the positions and our personnel probably a lot better than you do. Evan Hudson will be playing DE in the 3-4 (Banks, Potoae, ect are his competition there, and DT in the 4-3 where he will have the same competition. Banks and Potoae are considered DT's and they play at the same spot.

In Wilcox's scheme, it changes. For example in the Stanford game, we ran a 4-3 almost the entire game. Agianst the spread teams like Oregon and Arizona, we ran a 3-4. Like I said, a DE in the 3-4 is a 5 tech DT. Same schemes even call them DT, NT, DT for the three down lineman.

Our DL is young. This only Tosh 2nd year to expect them to be like 1991 every year is just plain unrealistic and won't be tolerated here.

Come on guy, surely you know the difference between a 3-4 DE and a 4-3 DE?

Disagree. Ty was a failure. Sark on the other hand continues to maintain a C average.

As would be with any high achieving family. Unfortunately, UW is supported by the Focker family, where participation badges are proudly displayed. Thus, a C average is always acceptable.

EHud will be situational in Wilcox's system. Settle down and have a STIFF drink. Hudson still going to block on offense. Remember ASJ played some pass-rush DE last year

Chill, our interior DL will be fine!

why don't you guys wait a few games. Look at rush yds/game, scoring defense, passing yds/game, sacks/game, yards/rush etc....before claiming how shitty our DT's are?

There is some potential that they will be fine. Shelton is a beast. I just find it pathetic that we have one good interior DL. We should have at least 2 Shelton types to go along with a couple other serviceable players. Sark has had 5 recruiting classes to find these guys. Instead, we are depending on a former walk-on TE and true freshmen to step up. What would happen if Shelton got hurt? It's not a formula for success.

If you listened to Tosh in the Spring, you could tell he didn't think much of the players we have. Potoae is terrible, Banks is a 265 pound DT, I've been told by another player that Tupou might be the worst player on the team, and Finau is worthless. Last year against Utah, Shelton came out, and they threw in Drew Schultz, a walk on, over all the other guys.

Not to mention UW was forced to use their 5 star TE to play on the defensive line as well in year four cause we had no DL depth.

Doogs were too busy sucking ASJ's cock for playing both sides to realize how terrible of a job of recruiting Sark had done to get to that point.
