I may have brought it up on the pod at some point but when I was at a wedding in Pullman this summer, they played the Cougar fight song. The only people who didn’t stand for it were myself, the brides Dad and… Dori Monson. RIP

    I hadn't heard that one

    Interesting

I remember him doing Cougit pregame stuff in the early 90s. It was a job and he did what he was told, I guess.

Big shoes to fill. I don't think Jason Rantz or anyone else can fill them.

I wasn't a daily or regular listener to Dori, but I usually agreed with him on stuff, especially the absurdity of the Seattle City Council - which is mostly comprised of carpet bagging SJWs not from here, btw. Dori exemplified the normal, local, typical Seattle born & raised guy sense that used to prevail around here with the likes of Emmet Watson and a few hard drinking, self-deprecating, funny and original types who weren't afraid to mock the elites or call bullshit on assholes.

We're gonna miss Dori more than we realize. Big Loss.

I don’t have any beef with the fight song itself but being a Husky Jack I didn’t go to UW so I wouldn’t stand for any song they do or sing along to it let alone a Coug fight song. I have principles and so did he I guess

Coached off season girls basketball games against him two or three times. Seemed like a good guy personally and he was close friends with a couple of my high school classmates who were also good guys. I enjoyed talking with him in that setting.

His show was a lot of derivative, anti-everything trash. But that played well with his audience.

Chuckling to myself wondering how many listeners @HHusky could draw on his best day ever.

He's already got the knitting grandmas locked up.

Big US cities have lots of problems, true. Dori moved to the suburbs.

I wonder if your leftist politics and the politicians you suck off daily have anything to do with the demise of our big US cities? Gee, I wonder.
Left of you is "leftist" now. Funny.

H needs to prove to everyone how he's above a populist radio jock like Dori. It's woke NPR and their non-stop stories about how everything is racist and how the Trans Cambodian Refugee Alliance is helping people get affordable sex change operations.

So it's Republicans who've ruined our big US cities then?

Or do you have the balls to admit that Demcrats run most of our big US cities?

    Which is it @HomoHusky?

Dori was just doing a show. He played footsie with some of the nuttiness you girls embrace without ever fully committing himself to it. Business decision. What's your excuse?
