I recall almost never having snow days. Here in Karenville on the Eastside schools have been cancelled due to snow in the forecast. It’s currently raining at my house. The BLM fist is still present on the bulletin board though. Good times.

I, too, find the snow hysteria to be unnecessary.

I went running with the dog in the dark and it was pouring rain then. Now we've got yuge flakes coming down.

It was snowing heavy in Georgetown so I decided to "work" from home. Beat the snow here as it now has arrived

This is pretty much a two week NOGAF about work period anyway

Also snow eventually melts into water which is harder for poc to navigate. It's literally snowing violence.

Last year It was explained to me by someone on the PTA that the increase in school closures is no longer 100% tied to bus routes, but the perceived ability of parents and teachers/staff to safely get to campus. Concerns were raised at the county level that keeping schools open in inclement weather could potentially put students from Underserved communities at a disadvantage as they were less likely to have reliable transportation.

Here in Karenville, our underserved minorities are Asians, rich software Indians and a few black professional athletes.

IDk I’m just telling you what this woman said to me at a U8 girls soccer game last year.

The idea was that there would be more closures in certain districts because of the transportation issue so SIs from neighboring districts were encouraged to show an abundance of caution to keep kids safe(!) but also to avoid a learning gap between different public school systems in the same area.

It’s fine. I don’t know why you’d think it was scary over here. There’s a couple inches on the ground at my house in Bellevue. Kids are out of school for Christmas break and they’re playing in our yard. I’m at work and my wife is at home wrapping presents.

Not really scary at all. You ok, bud?

    Yep

T’s and P’s. Make sure you go to Trader Joe’s and
stock up on the essentials. You might have to put your Corolla in slippery mode.

Got about 2 feet and snowing like a motherfucker. I love it.

    I don’t drive a Corolla(although I did for about 6mo 20 years ago) nor do I shop at Trader Joe’s but thanks.

I take that back. My wife loves the cheese selection there but I don’t think I’ve ever been inside one.

InstaCart for Costco/Fred Meyer/Met Market/Total Wine takes care of 99% of what we need.

Trader Joes has by far the best service and best price on wine. But I'm a boomer so I still buy 81% of my groceries at a major chain store with familiar brands

No, I read it correctly. You've never stepped foot into a Trader Joe's but you talk to PTA people?

Jesus Christ. Is there any aspect of you that isn't boring and shitty?

No, you didn’t read it correctly. I don’t attend PTA meetings.

I do attend my daughters soccer games(you will too) and I talk to the other kids parents from time to time(you will too).

    I hope this helps.
