Because his pitch was all about elevating HBCUs and sticking together to show they can compete.

That's why Eddie Robinson Jr got into it with him, because he knew Sanders wasn't "SWAC" and their to stay.

Anyone with half a brain knew he was gone, but their was some delusion because he doesn't need money and was pulling 5-stars to Jackson state he would follow through.

His pitch to his soon-to-be old team when he told them about taking the Colorado job was he's going to Colorado because there aren't enough black coaches in FBS and 4 just lost their jobs in the past month or so. I guess that's his twist on staying in the same lane while jumping from an HBCU.

At least the remaining ones will be better. The teams Herm Edwards, Karl Dorrell, Willie Taggart, and David Shaw coached went 12-36 this year.
