It will be special when Penix announces how he thanks God, the coaches, teammates, and fans for such a great opportunity and for all the support but after prayfully consideration and discussion it with his family he will be missing the Alamo bowl to prepare for the draft. Folles by "DAWG LIFE LIFE!"

    I could be wrong though.

I don't think so. It would immediately raise questions. Plus, he's never had a really successful season before and I think this game will be important to him.

I wouldn't be shocked but the truth is this will actually be a chance for a nice showcase opportunity for him (and the other guys considering the draft). It's a primetime game against a ranked big time program with no competing games. A lot fo the nation hasn't seen him play.

But does it really matter if the “nation” sees him play? I’d assume people who work for NFL teams who in charge of evaluating talent for the draft are well aware of him

It's bad for Texas, if they win it's no big deal since they've been there so often lately and if they lose, it's even worse. How many of their players will sit out?

Meanwhile, UW is still very happy with the season exceeding all expectations. The staff gets to increase its Texas recruiting reach and a win would be great for off-season natty momentum. 11-2 and a top 10 ranking would have been crazy talk a few months ago.
