Honestly, especially in the Pac-12, I'm really surprised Luciano didn't called for a hold on the Penix catch and run TD, and he needed to do it to probably make it work. They clearly weren't calling the holding close with WSU's pass protection though so it's fine.

The most surprising non calls to me were three, clearly late hits by WSU in the first half. Nine were huge hits or real eye popping in any way, but they were obvious and right in front of a ref each time. I think Bain threw his arms up on a pretty blatant hold on a long run we had. The refs weren’t calling holding. We were simply better than WSU all season. Refs missed some calls both ways, but you don’t give up 700+ yards because of the refs. -

Great thread. Refs lost them the game (they aren’t saying that they lost because of the refs but they are saying they lost because of the refs). It’s great when the one sane coug points out they had 4 penalties for 40 yards and UW had 10 for 105 or something and it was followed up by classic “yea but still” posts.

To be fair to the cougs, WSU did get assfucked by the refs in 2018 at USC. Larry Scott like called the review booth or something insane
