I hate my family, especially JoeEDangerously so Im thinking about who will be on the portal lot radar for the Huskies once the season ends after they lose the Apple Cup. Here's who I've seen smoke about or have very very very thin thoughts, mostly about guys who are from Washington who would maybe think about coming home.

I'm curious who other people have heard or fantasize about.

QB

Jake Haener Fresno State - Heard talk about him using his extra COVID year back in Seattle. Not sure if he has any pro potential and maybe could get a decent NIL package and see what Penix did.
Malik Murphy Texas - Seen his name pop up on Discord. Decent west coast recruit. Ewers should be the Texas starter next two years so he might want to get out.
Hank Bachmeier Boise State - Already in the portal. WE love Boise State.
Miles Hastings UCDavis - Doing well in the Big Sky. WE took a shitty UCDavis stud last year. That worked out well.

RB

Avery Morrow Colorado State - Big back from Garfield who has been pretty productive at CSU. CSU sucks.
George Holani Boise State - Again, we love Boise State and cucking Boner Pop. He's having a good year and we now love Poly running backs.
Cameron Skattebo Sacramento State - Looks and feels like a back that Deboer would like - big and can catch. From Sacramento area where UW has done well in recent years.

WR

Gary Bryant Jr. USC - He's not used much at USC and heard he's interested after heavily considering UW out of high school.
Darien Chase Portland State - Big target and former decent recruit who signed with Nebraska. From Vancouver, so probably prefers Ducks though.
Germie Bernard Michigan State - Can you portal and then portal back after one year? Not sure he's been amazing at MSU though.
Tory Horton Colorado State - Killing it at CSU. From Fresno where we know they love Deboer.
Troy Franklin Oregon - Come home.
Emeka Egbuka Ohio State - Also, come home.

TE

Benjamin Yurosek Stanford - Almost went to Washington out of high school. Is wasting his career at rotting Stanford.
Gee Scott Jr. Ohio State - Please come home.

OL

Bula Schmidt Fresno State - Started this year and from O'Dea. Depth if nothing else.
Levi Rogers Stanford - From Woodinville. No idea if he sucks. Get out of David Shaw's dumpster fire and find out.
Caadyn Stephen USC - From Camas and don't think he really plays at USC. Come back to WA and find out if you can play.
Vega Ioane Penn State - Jimmy and JonDon are gone. Why the fuck do you want to stay in central Pennsylvania?

DL

JT Tuimoloau Ohio State - Other than Penn State's QB throwing a bunch of passes to him for some reason, he hasn't done much in Columbus. Come home and get a new start.

LB

Orin Patu Cal - Rainier Beach guy. Played a whisper at Cal. Maybe get a shot at UW?
Julien Simon USC - Local guy. Seemed like there was weirdness between UW and him and the old staff. New staff. Consider coming home.

DB

Ayden Hector Colorado State - This would actually be the most valuable non-QB transfer they could possibly get but PR wise I'm sure they don't consider it. He also got kicked off of WSU while being their best young defensive so he might be a disaster.

Heaner and Hector off your list I would kick the tires on. See what falls off. I’d also look at Fresno State safety Evan Williams. I think he has a Covid year left. He’s better than Cook. The rest are JAGs and if not JAGs, guys UW would have no shot at.

Covington isn't seeing the field much at SC, he would have started this year for us easily.

I’d take Gary Bryant and Yurosek in a heart beat
    Agreed.

I'll add Fresno State receiver Jalen Moreno-Cropper who is listed as a junior. I've doog wondered if the truth was Deboer and co waited on Haener and Cropper last year because they knew what they had in Penix and McMillan/Odunze so they didn't want to bring them in, especially knowing they could still come in in 2023, when they'll need them more. I'd definitely take Evan Williams as well. Upgrade at Safety/Husky.

The only ones I would truly want are:

Hector - proven and huge area of need but no way they take him optics wise and getting kicked out of Pullman probably means he's a liability.
Bryant - Was really good in 2021 and could be as good as any WR UW has other than McMillan/Odunze, who might both be gone
Yurosek - Best TE in the Pac-12 after Dalton Kincaid. This is entirely speculation though

Not serious about Franklin/Egbuka/JTT, though his game against Penn State looks more and more like a one-hit wonder.

You think McMillan is gone? I think he will anchor the WR corps next year. Some off season hype, pre season all P12 teams and then a great year built off the improvement shown at the end of this one. Odunze seems gone but it will be interesting what the NFL says. Will he leave if he gets a fourth or fifth round grade? Hype and status comes from production. Both these kids have exactly one season of good production under their belts.

Ouside of the fluid situation at QB, fortunately UW won't need to hit the portal that hard. Mike Franklin is a big back option at RB and it sounds like Aaron Dumas and J. Sunday may transfer.

Thanks for bringing up Yurosek as Culp will likely try for the NFL so Westover, Moore, and Otton are the true TEs left. I'm not sure what they will do with Caden Jumper but from a parent of a player on the team (not Jumper's), I have heard he is a very good athlete and the new S&C coach has had him lose a lot of bad weight.

I could see them bringing in an Edge via the portal since ZTF and Martin will be gone.

LB could be set since we should remember that JC DeMario King is redshirting and Eddie O will be back next year. Bruener and Alonzo T will be back though who knows about Heimuli. But if Heimuli portals and the staff feels both Whitney and D. Bryant need to RS, then they would hit the portal.

If they can't get fabulous porn-name Channing Canada in the fold (Juco), then they will hit the portal for a CB. I'm not sure they need a safety.

If you asked me, McMillan is back and Odunze gone. McMillan is smaller and slighter and I think needs a second big year with eyes on him to really maximize his draft stock. I think Odunze's size is enough to get him a good enough grade to go. Though, I'm not entirely sold yet. He's slight and I think the NFL wants 6'3 receivers to be closer to 220 than 200 and I'm not sure how purely fast he is. He also could do a lot I think with preseason hype, more eyeballs on him and another big season.

Culp NFL? I don't know. I honestly think the portal might be more likely for him as Westover seems to have become TE1 anyway. I could see them bringing in a good TE who is a pure pass catcher in the portal because it really feels like the offense would be a great showcase for one.

I wouldn't be surprised if ZTF portals and I think there's a small chance Trice goes to the NFL early, so an Edge is probably a need.

I think they probably take at least one LB for depth with Bright and Moll gone and Ulo never healthy.

All the DB suck and/or are insanely young. They need immediate help there.

I'm surprised Bryant isn't getting time. I saw him a few times last year and he was a threat with the ball, better than I thought when he was a recruit.

I guess Culp could come back as a 6th year RS-SR but other than his dropsies, he has NFL athleticism. It would be nice if he stayed and worked on his dropsies and blocking, particularly if the staff isn't able to flip any of the TEs committed (the one to Vanderbilt and the other one to Cal).

Achilles are notoriously difficult to come back from can and it can take 24 months for a player to regain their mind / body. I see ZTF trying throwing his lot in with the NFL and hoping he can get a 5th or 6th round designation.

You are probably right now that I think about it regarding LB. They probably won't get a stud since the top 3 LBs are set but a guy like Moll would be interested.

I'd love to get this guy in the portal for DB: https://247sports.com/Player/Khyree-Jackson-46083779/

This entire message board is naive and borderline racist. You have people starting threads after we offered a kid with “(dark skinned)” in parenthesis. It’s embarrassing. It’s almost like the majority of posters have never left Seattle/Western Washington which isn’t exactly the cradle of diversity.
    Thank you barney
