Roadie will say the statue took too long to acquire the right petina for his artistic tastes.

He gets a statue for getting shot?
Too soon? -
No not for being shot and no, not too soon. Timing is just right.RaceBannon said:He gets a statue for getting shot?

For being that fucking awesome. Guy was flyin’ around and shit. -
Taylor’s jersey was retired last season. Taylor’s No. 21 jersey is the third in franchise history to be retired, following Sammy Baugh’s No. 33 and Bobby Mitchell’s No. 49. Other numbers are not in use but not retired.
What a fucked up franchise. Bobby Mitchell was the first Black player for the last team to integrate in the 60's no less. Marshall had to be forced into it. And Mitchell was traded
Marshall got his statue removed from RFK
As far as I can find this is the first player statue. Outside of 1972-1992 there isn't a lot to write home about anyway but that run had 5 Super Bowls and 3 wins and plenty of all time stars
Taylor played into his 4th year.
Whatever. But it appears it's because he got shot
I'm going with the Eastern wisdom of @RoadDawg55 here -
Disagree. Great player, great statue. Facts. You’re thinking too much. You can tear it down later if you don’t like it.RaceBannon said:Taylor’s jersey was retired last season. Agree that he’s getting a statue because he died. Had he suffered a career ending injury instead this would not be happening.
The only 2 statue worthy people in the franchise’s history are Sammy Baugh and Joe Gibbs. You could maybe talk me into Darrel Green due to his longevity playing at a high level, but he was never the best CB in the league.
Sean’s a mythical figure now because of what he had shown prior to his tragic death. Memorializing and honoring him accordingly is the only way to keep his memory alive and pass on the legend to the next generations. -
Exactly. Statue-worthy IMO.whlinder said:Agree that he’s getting a statue because he died. Had he suffered a career ending injury instead this would not be happening.

There haven’t been that many guys his size who could straight up play the run like a LB and center field like he did. Opposing coaches legit afraid of him.
Taylor was a fucking beast. Kenny Easley-level. Speaking of which, another guy who should have a fucking statue. But his career was shortened by ibuprofen, so the Seahawks lawyers said “no statue.” It’s complicated with Kenny.

Pat Tillman is more statue worthy and even that is a stretch. Didn’t do that much on the field and now Arizona has Friendly Fire tunnel to celebrate being a loser franchise. It’s pure capitalization on death, let’s call it what it is.

Lesser player than Taylor, died under even more tragic circumstances. So, statue. No problem. It’s what a given fan base wants that matters. Not people on a distant cfb forum who don’t care about the player at all. People in Arizona love Tillman, so it’s fine from my perspective even though IDRC one way or the other. I’ve been in the northeast for the last week and walked by statues of people I’ve walked by 50 times before and I still don’t know wtf they are … or care. Think most people nationwide care about Jim Owens? No. I barely do, and I knew people who played for him.biak1 said:Pat Tillman is more statue worthy and even that is a stretch. Make this guy a Husky and opinions here instantly become more diverse, because that’s what they care about. Human nature.
Taylor statue = awesome. Creepy approved. Facts. Done. -
Ok statue was apparently the wrong description. This is more like a memorial… using store mannequins.
Apparently they moved his locker to the club level:

Snyder found a way to make honoring Taylor worse than doing nothing

Dan Snyder apologizes, unveils new Sean Taylor tribute

LMFAO
For the record I'll always love Sean Taylor for wrecking a punter in the probowl. He was a different breed that was meant for the NFL glory years of legal clotheslines rather than the touch ball they play now.

Sounds like Dan Snyder is "All in"

Guess I will break out one of his jerseys- the last two I ever got since I am now a “No jerseys for male adults” practitioner- for today. -
As know long as Olds still show up to games with a collared shirt or free swag shirt they got from a playoff game, tucked into their khakis, and have no shame, adult males can wear a fucking Jersey.whlinder said:
